The process started off great, but
The process started off great. Sales really sold us. We told them how far the house was and what our jobs were and what our plans were for jobs and commute at the very beginning. They said great and committed us, had us pay for an appraisal and submit all paperwork including 401k (our down payment) and letter from my mother in law that she would not charge my husband rent to stay there while he kept his contracted, municipal, educator job. Silence for weeks. Send an email asking if we are still on track. Not approved for said contractual salary as it is 100 miles from the house. But they knew this at the beginning and had us have his mother affirm it. Instead, they said we had 30 days to find a new job of same salary and submit that FOR REVIEW. And provide more proof of funds for the difference. What? Leave a salaried contract? To be reviewed? Lost money, lost time, lost a friend, and would never ever ever recommend. This isn’t a lighthearted transaction and affects jobs, credit and this process seemed to forget that. We lost a house, money, and a family friend because this bank was not clear, honest, or upfront with their requirements. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Use your local bank.
