Love the mag, wanted to subscribe to it for a friend's granddaughter studying Environmental Science. Having read so many excoriating reviews of NG's delivery service, I'll just give her £25 instead! So very disappointing to read, but a big thank-you to all contributors, who've steered me away from a potentially embarrassing gift.

Follow up - I emailed the CEO and within 48 hours the issues with my account were resolved and with the desire expressed that they aim to do better. A good resolution. Without a doubt the worst customer service of all time. Password issues for weeks on end with no ability to access website nor any communication nor refund for lost services. If you email customer service to the National Geographic Customer Service email they simply just do not respond -- I am on my last and final attempt to resolve ongoing password issues and an inability to access archives despite having paid the subscription fee. If only the service and customer care could be as nice as the pictures in the magazine but then again I cannot access them so maybe they are on par.

Don't expect customer service to go out of their way.
