Subscribed as a gift for 12 months through a third party in July 2021. Now in October and the recipient still hasn't received an issue, third party says the order is 'with the publisher'. Please avoid

UK. I bought NG Kids UK annual subscription auto-renew for my grandson a couple of years ago. He's lost interest & I'm now trying to cancel. After emails & phone calls I seem to be getting nowhere. The latest info (by email & phone) was to call 0333 5777272. This gives a message 'The number you have dialled is not in service' !!! Not very useful! Hopefully my credit card company will accept my cancellation. I wouldn't do business with Nat Geo again. Very easy to subscribe, but VERY difficult to unsubscribe. I'm currently waiting for an email reply to my email having been told that 'Our turn around time is normally 5 working days'. Is the problem because I'm in the UK or is it just as bad in the USA?

NG holds environmental articles up as ransom to force people to sign up for their website to sell their personal data.

I have been receiving spam emails from National Geographic for years. National Geographic does not verify email addresses. Anyone can sign up with email addresses that do not belong to them. Once they have your email, they send you 3 emails a day. Their unsubscribe function does not work, the spam simply continues. You can contact NG to have your email removed manually but as soon as someone else plugs in your email the flood of spam resumes.

Showing 9/11 on the anniversary of this tragedy with advertising on every 5-10 minutes. Thank you for trying to make Bank on this at your prime time! Just disgusting and amoral!!!

I'm UK-based and the firm National Geographic have managing their subscriptions have little to no concept of customer service. Took out 3 month subscription in April was told it would start in June. June went by no magazine. Contacted customer servs who said it would start in July instead and I'll get an extra September issue instead - no-one had bothered to tell me this in advance. Fast forward to August, they've still got me on the original billing plan and are now trying to bill me for another 6 months despite me still being owed my September issue. Contacted customer services because I don't have the money this month for a surprise expense, and they have cancelled my subscription, sent me replacement July/August magazines, amended a future direct debit for February - none of which I asked for. They've done all that but still no-one has actually addressed the problem that they're billing me early and they still owe me a magazine. Nor do they recognise the bad customer service they are providing, or that they are wasting customers time with constant emails and causing stress and financial difficulty. If they were a bank they would be taken to the ombudsman for this and fined. I'd seriously think twice about subscribing, the only thing that makes it attractive is the saving on the cost price of the magazine, and I'm not sure it's worth the gamble that you might have to deal with the awful customer service. It's a shame, because the magazine itself is excellent.

I have for some twenty years been a member of the National Geographic and before that enjoyed the thirty years of my fathers collection. My dad always said that you could travel around the world with a copy of the magazine without leaving your lounge room chair, Well that's certainly no longer the case with the magazine now little more then a leftest propaganda rag. I find it insulting that that the founding fathers initiated a journal of science and geography for the purposes of education only for it now to follow every woke cause and political partisanship . Susan Goldberg needs to understand this is a paid subscription and for most this not what we signed up for. Its not up to her to push her own left leaning anti western agenda but simply to deliver content in line with subscribers expectations. And with that I will be resigning from this magazine when subscription is due .

Since i was young i have loved national geographic. The shows the magazines. I have a huge collection them. It's a amazing place to read and watch information and learn. But with the constant, non stop feministic shows. women of impact commercials and other feministic items. The National geographic is starting to look more like watching a 1984 reprogram show. The kind of stuff china does to others they want changed and being reprogramed. I am all for equal rights for all humans. But if you have so many of these kind of shows. Why don't you give feminists there own national geographic channel. And like the rest of use watching the channels make them pay for it, if you want to watch it subscribe. So the rest of use can get back to learning and educating or selves. Thx you.
