Mytennislessons.com has connected me with many potential and actual students over the years. I found them to provide a valuable service. John in accounting has been accurate and consistent with payments for lessons. Unfortunately, the 33.33% cut the company takes is one of, if not the, highest in the industry. Also, it is difficult to communicate online or on the phone in real-time with a live person. I would like to see the commission fee reduced, resulting in more money going to instructors, and easier communications for instructors with live representatives.

Updated Review: Some communication/organization issues
I was only able to take one lesson due to some communication issues. I was first assigned a coach who contacted me to set up a time to talk over the phone. At our agreed upon time he failed to give me a call. This happened twice, so I asked to be assigned to a different coach. This time I was mistakenly assigned to a coach in Arizona when I live in Colorado. I once again had to contact someone from Mytennislessons. I was finally assigned coach Jeff Webb. Although he gave a decent first lesson, there were some major communication issues with him as well. Our second lesson was canceled one hour before we were supposed to meet with no explanation as to why he was canceling the lesson. Although this bothered me that more notice wasn't given, I was willing to reschedule. I communicated with coach Jeff about rescheduling through text and didn't hear back from him, so I once again had to contact someone from Mytennislessons. It took two days before, I heard anything back from coach Jeff (which was likely because someone had to remind him to reply to my text). This lack of communication, to me, was a warning sign that this coach was not reliable. I contacted Mytennislessons asking for a refund because I did not see any other coaches in my needed area and didn't want to work with coach Jeff. I was told by Nicole, that Baker would look into this. A week passed by, and I didn't hear anything, so I reached out to Baker for an update. Again, I heard nothing, so I simply stated I was going to start the process with my bank to get the $360 charge reversed. Once I stated this, I immediately heard back from them and was given a full refund.
Two months later, however, I'm cc'd on an email from Coach Jeff saying that my card has been charged for the first lesson.
Although there were a few more communication issues along the way, Nicole was able to get this issue taken care of and reverse this transaction. She also offered me a free lesson if I wanted to work with a coach through Mytennislessons in the future. Since Nicole was able to resolve my issues in the end, I would consider working with Mytennislessons again, if a different coach became available. I also appreciate that Nicole was willing to take responsibility for the issues that arose. This, to me, indicates a willingness to improve the process in the future.

This service may work fine for some…
This service may work fine for some people, but I was surprised to see my credit card immediately charged, since the website states that charging will happen only once there has been some definiteness about the coaching relationship and schedule (I can't recall the precise words). The guy I chose called me to say he was a student facing finals and we could talk once that was completed, which I understood to be in 8 or 10 days. Eighteen days later I noticed the credit card had been immediately charged, and I still have received no phone call. Calls to him go unanswered and he has no voice mail. I get the impression that the 1-866 number is a call center and the one time they answered, they said all dealings need to be with the local coach. Again, I suspect this service can work well, but my experience was not good. Doug Grev PS. I discussed this matter with the administrator of the organization and they revoked the credit card charge so I changed this rating to 3stars.

Great network of coaches, but slow customer support during off season
Make sure to talk to MTL support before purchasing package of lessons.
I purchased a package of 20 lessons mid October and was happy with my coach. However, I did not know there was an additional indoor court rental fee that is and additional $70/ hour when the weather gets to cold to have tennis lesson outside.
I brought this issue up with customer support contact, but it took 5 business days + an angry review for an MTL representative to get back to me about my request to change my package.
Lacking customer support staff. Expect additional indoor court rental fee. Double check with instructor before purchasing lesson package.
