I have had my Gardyn for a year and a half, so I feel like a can give a reasoned view of it. The product overall is great, I would say, especially compared to what else is available that compares. It looks great and it packs a whole lot of functionality into a very reasonably priced package (particularly with the campaigns they are always running). I am as far from a gardening person as you can ever imagine, I could probably manage to make a cactus wither and die. Yet my Gardyn merrily flourishes with an abundance of produce, and the whole family has grown to love being able to pluck fresh salad right off the thing, instead of stocking stuff in the fridge which invariably is not quite fresh, must be washed before using, etc. For criticisms, the pod holders sometimes drip water and you have to experiment with the pod placement to make it stop, something wrong with the design of the water flow inside the stem. Also do not count on a completely hands off experience, the thing grows algae and needs to be cleaned off once in a while. But I think that is probably unavoidable given what it is. Perhaps an ultraviolet light in the tank would be an idea for a design upgrade? Finally a note on customer service: My experience has been great (which honestly is what prompted me to go and write this review, they deserve it). The pump broke because I had been running it on an empty tank (I guess preventing this could be another improvement). The thing is out of warranty and the fault was mine, so I was ready to buy another. But hearing about the problem, Gardyn sent me a new pump free and clear. Very customer friendly, which is generaly the vibe I get from their communication and policies.
