Made the terrible mistake of using this service for one specific song and have been locked in to paying nearly $100 a month. Yes it was my mistake in the first place, but they’ve shown zero compassion or interest in helping. This company is a mistake I won’t be making twice.

Hi James, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry this has been a frustrating experience, especially when you only needed one song.
Your account was enrolled in an annual subscription rather than a standalone song license. If you’re open to sharing, I’d appreciate understanding what led you to choose the subscription and whether anything about those options was unclear. That feedback would help us improve the experience!
My colleague Olivia reached out in April to offer a two-month pause on your subscription to help offset the cost and relieve some of the financial burden. We didn’t hear back, so we weren’t able to put that pause into effect.
I’m sorry our efforts to help didn’t meet your expectations. I’m happy to hear more about your experience and clarify the options available to you.

BEWARE
BEWARE! The free trial ropes you into a year long $1000+ commitment. I tried to cancel this subscription on the website and was not able to. I had to reach out to the customer service chat and after 45 minutes, was finally able to get the subscription stopped, but only after threatening legal action. Customer service refused to refund me for the payment that was made today when I was trying to cancel the subscription. This was a horrible experience. I do not like this platform. I find it difficult to navigate and use. I ended up downloading one song and one song only. For this, I ended up paying a total of $200 and wasted about an hour of my time arguing with their online customer service. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!!!

Hello Stephanie,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We reviewed your account and the conversation with our team.
Our records indicate that your trial converted to an annual subscription after the disclosed trial period. The annual term and applicable pricing were presented during trial sign-up, and a reminder was sent before the trial ended. By the time you contacted us, the subscription had already converted and the first two monthly installments had been processed.
Although the subscription was outside the standard cancellation window, our team made an exception by canceling it and waiving the remaining balance of the annual commitment. No additional subscription payments will be collected.
We’re sorry to hear the platform and support experience did not meet your expectations. We take feedback about the clarity of our enrollment and cancellation processes seriously and will continue reviewing both.
Thank you,
- Grant, Director of Client Experience

Bad Refund Policy
I clearly told them to cancel my subscription. The representative never did.
The auto-renewal happened and I informed them that it was supposed to be canceled. They said they would cancel it but could not refund me the charges that had already happened, due to their refund policy.
While they did have some good song options, after using it a while I felt like I ran out of options.
I'd recommend Artlist.io over this company.

Payments for life or back catalogue is locked.
Musicbed are - by no small margin - the most expensive music licensing platform available. Most of their monthly subscriptions are equal or close to any of their competitors yearly prices, as such it’s safe to assume that customers expect a lot from this brand. Unfortunately Musicbed on no level delivers.
Initially the music choice seems adequate - it doesn’t strike me as larger than their competitors but the quality has always been high (although this is obviously completely subjective!) what is disappointing is the way in which Musicbed fail to keep up with their competition. I produce mainly wedding films and as such often seek the same kind of songs, I noticed within a few months that I was just coming across the same old songs again and again with little new appealing content. While there is certainly new content, it is nowhere near the level you would expect for such an expensive website.
That said my main issue with Musicbed is their billing. I’ve been with Musicbed for around two and a half years and last month a payment was missed without me realising (I hadn’t been using the site much on account of the lack of new content I could actually use) - as I have not entered into any kind of contract with Musicbed and they had ceased to provide any kind of service my account should have been paused or put on hold. Instead of reinstating my account when the next payment went through Musicbed completely locked out my account. I couldn’t visit my account page, contact Musicbed, view past licenses or do anything at all on any Musicbed URL despite a payment having just been made. The only way for me to contact them was through a PayPal dispute in which they told me the account would not be reopened until there was no outstanding balance. So users are expected to chase at an outstanding balance that continues to increase despite no service at all being provided (not to mention invalidating their previously provided service by denying users access to their licenses and library)
Effectively this is a site that - once you are foolish enough to sign up for - attempts to completely lock users in forever with their entire back catalogue and library serving as leverage. All of this without any contract at all in place.
Genuinely one of the most appalling business plans I’ve seen from any subscription based company and absolutely reeks of being the kind of morally bankrupt company you should avoid at all costs.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to give us your candid feedback today. I sincerely apologize for the poor experience you had, and hope I can shed some light on the circumstances.
I'm sorry you feel the depth of the catalog did not match up with your expectations. While we add over 1,000 new songs every month, we know the search experience and perception of variety is subjective. We are always working on our search tools to make sure you are able to easily find fresh, authentic music from our artists.
I completely understand your frustration around this billing issue, and apologize that it impacted you in such a negative way. To provide some context here: all subscriptions are structured as 12-month agreements. Upon completion of the agreed twelve months, any subscriber can close their account, cease billing, and maintain access to their account history and previous licenses forever. Our policy is to put a hold on any accounts that are not in good standing so we can protect our artists and honor the subscription agreement. That said, I understand it caused undue friction for you, and do apologize for that.
Now, I would love to connect with you directly so I can personally review your situation and see if we can come to a more satisfactory solution together! If you're willing, please reach out to [email protected] and ask for Grant so we can work on this together.
Thanks again for your time and feedback, I look forward to assisting you further.

Scummy business tactic to only allow…
Scummy business tactic to only allow you to cancel your subscription in the last month of a 12 month subscription. Tells you everything you need to know about this company.
Edit to the reply I got: There is no reason to only allow me to cancel future renewals after an 11 month wait period. It's just greed, hoping people forget. 'Continued access' is not a valid reason. Any of the competitor sites I use don't have this rule and I've been using them succesfully for over 5-7 years. I also don't need help to review my case, I've managed to cancel it luckily.
Response from MusicbedAug 25, 2026
Hi Naick, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry for the frustration this caused.
We do our best to make renewal timing clear by emailing clients when the one-month renewal window opens, but I understand that this process didn’t work as expected in your case.
Our renewal terms are designed to help maintain uninterrupted access to fully cleared, licensed music and avoid any gaps in coverage. That said, we never want clients to feel stuck, and we’re always willing to review situations individually.
I’d be happy to personally take another look and see what options may be available. Please email [email protected] and ask for Grant.
Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Buyer Beware!
Sadly, I have fallen victim to the same scam that so many others have had issues with. Their fine print can blindside you, so be careful. Unfortunately, many of the folks starting the free trial and thinking they can cancel at any point are likely not reading reviews, but I wish they made their subscription policy clearer!
Response from MusicbedAug 11, 2026
Hi Stuart- I'm really sorry to hear about the frustration your renewal caused. We never want anyone to feel blindsided by a renewal or unclear terms, and we understand how upsetting that can be.
Our free trial is intended to give clients time to explore the platform before the subscription begins, and the subscription details are presented during signup, in account settings, and in a renewal notice email 24 hours before the renewal goes through. Still, we hear your feedback that this information should feel clearer and easier to understand before renewal.
I'd like to take another look at your account and see what options may be available. Please reach out to our team directly, or reply to your existing support thread, and I'll be happy to review this with you (you can ask for Grant).
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re actively using reviews like this to improve how we communicate subscription terms and renewal expectations.
Looking forward to assisting you,
- Grant, Director of Client Experience

I was charged 20% tax when I asked they told me it was VAT, I asked for their vat number and they told me they werent registered for vat but happy to charge it, checking previous years invoices there was no charge, duty reported to the HMRC, be warned if your from the UK watch out for this
Response from MusicbedAug 3, 2026
Hi Sarah! Thanks for your feedback.
Musicbed always defers to the local tax authority on whether or not to charge VAT for each invoice. If you have a valid VAT number and feel you have been charged in error, we can add that number to your account and refund the fee right away!
I'd love to review your account in more detail so I can help you with best next steps. Please email [email protected] and ask for Grant so I can assist you further. Thanks again for your time, I look forward to working with you on a solution!

Scammers. I got charged for $1,200 over the course of a year. I tried to cancel within three minutes of receiving the email that said I started my account. They wouldn't let me. This should not be legal.
Response from MusicbedJul 27, 2026
Hi Tucker, I’m very sorry for the frustration here. I’ve reviewed the account history and confirmed that our team provided the best available options at the time. I understand that’s disappointing, and I appreciate you sharing your experience with us.
I also saw that my colleague Allyson previously offered a discounted settlement option back in December. Although that offer was not completed at the time, I’d be happy to honor it now by refunding the difference between what you paid and the original discounted amount.
Please email [email protected] if you’d like to move forward with that option.
Thanks again for your time and feedback.
