Don’t waste your time if you are needing a diagnosis or paperwork completed for a disability claim. Isn’t mental health treatment supposed to be something that is supported through the ADA? I wasted 6 months of my time with a therapist and I have no help now with my mental health disability claim and have to start all over again with someone new. Oh, I was also seeing someone for medication management and she just up and left. No communication whatsoever. I was left to fend for myself when I needed refills. Not very happy about that!

Great for diagnosis; not so much for therapy
I had a great experience with a psychologist who diagnosed me with ADHD. I was prescribed Adderall by my doctor. Unfortunately, my appointments with my psychologist have been cancelled and rescheduled 4 times in a row! It’s frustrating because I really need to speak with her and I’ve adjusted my schedule 4 times.

Having a difficult time scheduling a session with a therapist. More than a few of the therapists that are referred to me have areas of expertise that are of no use to me (teenage issues, sexual orientation, etc).

My experiences with my psychiatrist were okay, although the appointment was usually more small talk than actual treatment and was never longer than 20 minutes. When I mentioned a side effect that just started occuring, my psych asked me what I wanted to do about it. I didn't know how to respond, as I was expecting her medical guidance. We ended up not changing anything. Later, I decided to cancel my upcoming appointment before the month of May because I did not want to pay the additional $29 monthly fee. I sent an email to the Mood staff informing them of this (at the time I was going to keep the appointment, then realized they would be charging me monthly up until the appointment which was 3 months away). I stated I would like to end services after this appointment. Since I cancelled it, I did not expect to be billed for the month of May because they are not treating me anymore. Not only was I mistakenly charged three times for one month, I was told that my subscription account was still active. The website is deceptive in mentioning it's "subscription" based and rarely uses that actual language in their FAQ or descriptions. I'm not paying for Netflix, I'm paying for a psychiatrist appointment. Their FAQ also states that, unlike competitors, patients are able to have direct email contact with their provider- this is untrue. I was never given a direct phone number or email for my provider, and had to go through customer service if I wanted to speak to her (and didn't end up actually speaking to her at all). I had to restate three times in three emails that I wanted my account terminated to the customer service rep Giovanni. It seems they want to do anything they can to keep you in their care even if they're not providing treatment or it is deceptive. Right after rolling out the $29 fee, they also sent patients an email saying they'll donate $20 to NAMI for every referral you make. The timing seems too convenient to me. I believe a company that wanted to actually advocate for mental health would not make their donations a transaction that ends up with more money in the company's pocket anyway.

Hi there — we are so sorry to hear about your experience and want to make this right. We'd like to provide feedback directly to the provider you met with. If you're open to it, please email [email protected] to share your experience with our Patient Care team.
As for the Mood monthly fee for access to services, we understand that a price change can be difficult for many, and we appreciate your taking the time to voice your concern. We will definitely share this feedback internally with our team.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Price change
I so badly want to give mood health a 5 star because I did find an amazing therapist. A couple months in and I’m starting to make a little progress with weekly sessions. Now I am being charged more (even with low income) because they phased out the $19/session. I will no longer be able to have weekly sessions and will most likely only be able to do once a month now. It’s a huge damper on my healing process :/ please bring this back because some people really need this

Hi Victoria, thank you for sharing your experience. We know that a price increase from the $19 discounted price can be a burden for people, and we continue to do everything we can to keep the price of mental health care affordable, especially compared to other clinics and practices.

What is going on?
Two weeks ago my therapist left Mood and I was placed back on a wait list. Yesterday I was connected with a new therapist and we were to meet today. Today they texted me to cancel. I was then booked with a third therapist in less than 24 hours and then when I went to cancel it, it read that I would be charged. Really?? I don't feel confident in Mood.

Hi Claudia,
Thank you for your feedback, and we're so sorry that you've lost confidence in Mood. We do our best to match patients with new therapists in the event of a therapist leaving Mood or calling out sick, but it seems that we fell short on this effort. If you're open to giving us another try, please email us at [email protected] and we can make this right for you.
