Laser arrived damaged
Laser arrived damaged. I don't believe that is Monport's fault, but rather who they shipped it with. The crate looked like it was kicked off of the back of the delivery truck without actually stopping. Unit arrived with a broken camera and way out of square. An email to Monport had a replacement camera on the way, which took about twice as long to receive as the whole laser took once I ordered. I quickly unboxed, setup and got to engraving and just couldn't get anything to score. after some youtube searching I checked mirror alignments and realized that everything was out of alignment. over the course of three days, I completely disassembled the unit, squared up the frame, the rails for the x/y, then went through and aligned all three mirrors before I was able to get the 1st cut. I took it as an opportunity to learn more about how the device functions, inside and out and now am very impressed with this unit given the price. There definitely is some value here.

We appreciate your patience and determination in getting everything aligned and functioning properly. It’s great to hear that after getting the machine squared and calibrated, you’re now impressed with its performance and value.
