While our initial in-store experience at Modani Furniture in San Diego was pleasant, the post-purchase logistics and customer service were SO shady. We purchased the Oxford TV Stand on 8/30 with an estimated 2 to 3-week timeline as per Daniel Varona, but after a month without a single update--despite paying a $159 delivery fee--we had to repeatedly chase down basic information ourselves. It is ridiculous to charge a hefty delivery fee and then fail to provide any delivery service updates whatsoever; how can a furniture business expect to survive if they cannot actually get furniture to their customers? When we finally received an update, we were informed the item wouldn't even ship until 10/12 (six weeks post-purchase) and that they refused to waive the delivery fee, leaving us no choice but to cancel. This is looks to be common practice as evidenced by so many other reviews of customers facing the same issues. And of course....we still haven't received our refund.

I should have paid more attention to…
I should have paid more attention to customer reviews. Placed an order June 1st and at a time never stated a backlog. Every month I get another note that shipment is delayed for another month. 4 times. I want out. I want my order cancelled and never again do I make a mistake of ordering from them. HELP

I am writing to formally complain about…
I am writing to formally complain about a very disappointing experience with my recent furniture purchase from Modani.
I spent more than $5,000 on furniture from your store, expecting both quality products and professional customer service. Unfortunately, one of the pieces arrived with a problem that was not caused by me.
When I contacted the store, I was told that the issue had to be reported within seven days. I understand that companies have policies; however, this situation was beyond my control. During that time, my mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, was hospitalized, and my attention was understandably focused on her serious medical situation.
What has been especially upsetting is the lack of understanding, compassion, and willingness to help. I am not asking Modani to take responsibility for damage that I caused. I am asking the company to stand behind a product for which I paid a significant amount of money and that had an issue through no fault of my own.
As a customer who spent more than $5,000 with your company, I expected a much higher level of service. Simply referring to a seven-day policy without seriously considering the circumstances or the actual problem with the furniture does not reflect the customer service I expected from Modani.
I am requesting that management review this situation and provide a reasonable resolution, such as repairing or replacing the defective furniture or offering another appropriate solution.
I hope Modani will reconsider how this matter has been handled and demonstrate that customer satisfaction is important to the company.
Please contact me as soon as possible regarding a resolution.
Sincerely,
Francisca

They have the worst customer service…
They have the worst customer service ever. I bought furniture from the website in May. As of today, August 12 still haven't received it nor received any updates.
It's hit or miss if I call customer service and connect with a person. They promise a call back and it never happens.
At this point I am thinking of calling my credit card company and filing a complaint.
It's a shame that I have to resort to negative reviews to get attention.

"Built To Last" lasted 3 years — and Modani says that's not a defect
In April 2023 I furnished most of my home through Modani (Tampa store), including a Livio 2 sofa marketed as "Beautifully Crafted, Built To Last" and sold to me as leather.
Less than a year after delivery, one of the two power-lift sides failed. Modani's technician confirmed the malfunction but the company refused to repair it without an extended protection plan. At the 36-month mark the upholstery began peeling; it now sheds flakes on anyone who sits down. The material peeling away is a surface coating — not leather as I was told when buying. Modani still lists it as "eco leather."
I filed a formal claim and Modani denied it in writing: upholstery deterioration at approximately three years "is not considered a manufacturing defect." By their own written standard, a three-year sofa lifespan is acceptable.
Judge the durability marketing against that. Mechanical failure inside year one, dead upholstery at year three, zero remedy offered. Check exactly what "eco leather" is and what the warranty actually covers before you spend money here.

Quality is terrible
Quality is terrible, and customer service is even worse. I purchased six dining chairs, and all six developed the exact same stitching defect in the same location, clearly indicating a manufacturing issue. When I reported it, I was told claims were only accepted during the warranty period. I ultimately had to discard all six chairs. I had a similar experience with a leather sofa that began peeling just two years after purchase. Very disappointing quality and poor customer support.

Feedback Regarding Recent Experience at Modani Atlanta
Subject: Feedback Regarding Recent Experience at Modani Atlanta
I’m writing to share my recent experience at the Modani Atlanta location, which unfortunately left me extremely disappointed.
About two weeks ago, I visited the Atlanta store to browse furniture for my home. Since Memorial Day was approaching, I specifically asked the sales associate, Makayla Glenn, whether I should wait in case the items I liked went on sale. She assured me that because I was purchasing within a two‑week window, any Memorial Day price reductions would be honored for the items I bought.
Based on that promise, I went ahead and purchased several items that same day instead of waiting for the holiday sale.
A week later, Modani advertised its Memorial Day promotions, and several of the items I purchased were indeed discounted. Since my order had not yet been delivered, I called the Atlanta store to request the price adjustment I had been promised.
The store manager—I believe his name is Antonio—took the call, and from the start his tone was dismissive and rude. He immediately stated that the store would not honor any discount because my purchase was already completed. I explained the commitment made by the sales associate, but he refused to listen or even attempt to understand the situation. The conversation escalated into a verbal argument, which should never happen in a customer service interaction.
Feeling unheard, I contacted the Miami store and spoke with Vanessa, who was professional, kind, and helpful—exactly the type of customer service I expected from Modani.
This experience has completely changed my perception of the Atlanta location. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to resolve a clear customer service issue is unacceptable. I was planning to make additional purchases during Memorial Day week, but after this interaction, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I strongly recommend retraining the Atlanta staff—especially management—on how to communicate with customers and honor commitments made by their own team.
Ps: 80+ one star reviews on inadequate customer service in Atlanta location. Not sure if anything is being done to address this issue. Still have not received my furniture yet. Will update more on how it goes.

Deceived & Disgusted: Do not buy! Bug Infested Meridian Furniture Passed Off as Modani
I waited over a month for my furniture order from Modani, only to discover it wasn’t even their furniture. I had to pick it up myself from a shipping facility outside Dallas. The boxes were clearly labeled Meridian Furniture, not Modani.
When I called customer service about this, they flat out lied and insisted it was Modani furniture and then hung up on me. The reality was completely different, the packaging, branding, and labeling showed it was not Modani at all. It appears they sourced cheap furniture manufactured in Indonesia (which the box clearly said Indonesia) and tried to pass it off as their own at a marked up price.
To make matters worse, the furniture arrived infested with bugs. I have photos of the Meridian boxes, the lack of any Modani branding, and the bugs crawling on the pieces.
This is not acceptable. I expected to receive what I paid for, Modani furniture with proper service. Instead, I got delays, deception, and bug infested items.
Customer service also stopped responding to emails.
I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. Will be pursuing a discount, refund or chargeback.
