Opened my business account on the first day after that I put a application for BBLS they wasted 5 weeks of mine kept asking for same paperwork which were sent few times. I was told lies from there telephone management, after 5 weeks the loan got declined now there is no one who is given loan to new customers. I did contact CEO MR DANIEL Furmarkin, he was a waste of time also my advise is don't go with this bank there Customer service is so bad it takes over 45min to 1 hour to talk about any issues, Now I am taking this case to FCO Please don't waste your time with metro

I wouldnt go near metro bank if my life depended on it, they messed me up so badly and ruined my lively hood, but will give no explanation at all, I have tried very hard to get answers, but nobody talks to me. Please stay away, go to a more reputable bank.

Absolute nightmare ! I have been with this bank since 2014, I can take no more of what has to be the worst customer service ever! I have made several complaints to Craig Donaldson (CEO) and won every complaint yet nothing changes ! The internet banking is a joke slightest problem you get locked out, 14 diget security numbers, get it wrong then your blocked,(how they expect the elderly to bank with them is inconceivable) then you have to go the through the painful experience of trying to get through the customer service. Clearly customer service staff aren't chosen for their telephone manner, recruited from “ Chavs Recruitment” . Every time I speak to a representative I get a different story, not one member will give you the same information. Yet Metro Bank are obviously aware of customer service issues but do nothing about it. Incompetence is an understatement I’m now switching to the nationwide . Avoid this bank at all costs !!

absolutely disgusted with the customer service. First I go into the store to set up my online/app banking they take my card do the needful but fail to inform me that my card has expired then when I log on to the app it does not allow me to transfer money from my account to another account that belongs to me and then when I call customer services the guy Deepraj tell me conflicting things about error messages till I request to speak to a manager I am still on hold call since 18:48 time is now 19:10 and all I have the pleasure of listening to some random music. losing patience with this I am going to close my account. They should be ashamed of calling themselves a Bank. Crap Bank

So I had an interim court order from Court of Protection that explicitly stated that the bank had to provide me with my brother's bank details so they could complete my'deputyship' application. There was a deadline for this to be filed back at court. I phoned to see if could be done without going to bank as hour and half drive for me. No I would have to go and was told everything I would need to take and that they would email particular branch to tell them I was coming and that I was to turn up as bank opened to get guaranteed sorting. Arrived at 9am having taken a personal dependents day off work as being a teacher I can't just take days off. No we can't do that, need to phone central office for advise. No we didn't get an email from central phone line. Come back later but we will phone you at 12pm to advise where things are at. No phonecall received. Returned at 12.30. Oh she's dealing with someone else now, have a seat for a short wait. I queried what a short wait would be- oh anything up to 2 hours. I stated this wasn't good enough so they then said 30-45 mins. I said I was going to get some lunch. They said they'd phone- yet again no call so returned an hour later- oh she's on her lunch break now! Come and have a seat. Sat like an idiot for 10 mins and as my blood was boiling I asked to speak to manager. Bear in mind this started at 9am and we are past 1pm now. Manager didn't deem me worthy of an immediate response- 10 mins later after her staff member had kept going over to her, she appeared. Took me to desk and said that they were told that morning that they would have to phone court of protection to verify court order. One'why?'- it's a seal embossed court order, two- why didn't they start phoning as soon as they found this out. We are now approaching 2pm on Friday afternoon. I Google court of protection which only had 2.2 stars (slightly more than this bank though) because they don't answer their phone. So 4 of us sit on phones, including the bank manager, trying to get through. Surprise surprise- no joy! At 3 pm I tell them that despite my brother being severely disabled and having not left rehab centre in 6 months except in an ambulance on two occasions to go to hospital, I would have to go and get him to verify his account. Bear in mind he can't speak except a few words and has physical disabilities including following issues. Returned at 4pm with brother in wheelchair and got things settled by 5pm. 8 hours where despite a legal court order I could not get the information required. Huge amounts of stress and had to put my brother in a very vulnerable position. I emailed the CEO of bank with full details- reply 'I don't look at my emails very often so try this person' - spelling errors in his standard reply. So I emailed who he suggested. To date no reply. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. It's disgusting that they failed at every point and led, promising things they just didn't carry out including emails, phonecalls sand getting information. My day started at 7.20am and I got home extremely stressed at 7pm.

Rang them up to apply for a mortgage as Metro and Nationwide were the only two doing 10% deposits. I was told they didn't do it over the phone. Told to go into a store to do this. Being in the north of England the closest store was a decent drive away but still went to a branch. Walked into to store to be greeted by a rather patronising lady who then told us no, you do mortgage over the phone. I explained I had already rung Metro and that was the only reason I had travelled to that branch only to be told "yeah well you rang the wrong number you should've spoke to the mortgages team." Now I thought I had rang them? Even so how can the customer care team not have just said "i'll put you through" or even "this is the wrong number, please ring the mortgage team on ###". Anyway we sat down with a lady who talked us through rates and deposit amounts who was actually nice thankfully (the only reason for the second star, otherwise this was a one star review). This is where we found out they weren't even offering 10% deposit mortgages, only 20%. So the person I rang earlier that week lied about not only having to do a mortgage in person but also the deposit amount they'll accept. I couldn't believe it. Honestly I don't think I'll ever pursue opening any accounts or loans etc with Metro after this. And I really do hope this was a one off and no one else has to deal with a similar situation to this.
