All good and decided to change my account from over 16s to a current account to open more use of it. Went to pay abit of money into my account at post office and was told they don’t do metro I read they do so I contacted metro and they only allow to pay into the account and businesses only not personal so to me I don’t think The account is that good for anyone other than businesses I don’t know how this Bank affords to keep the building I mean there’s nobody in that Bank hardly. The service in the bank were lovely though and even after opening and going back still lovely. But not being able to take money out at a post office isn’t great really, I want more things I can do with my own money for a personal user and Metro don’t offer that.

I hate to say this, but 'everything' that was good about Metro Bank is now gone. It is now just a normal bank. I also find that their Online Banking is not always accurate. There seems to be an issue with PENDING TRANSACTIONS.. sometimes they appear, then disappear and then re-appear. Sometimes I have been put into debt (for a few hours), only to find a few hours later that I have a large balance. It seems that their internet banking calculation methods are sketchy and chaotic. I'm considering to leave them and go to another bank or building society, which is a shame because I really want them to do better.. and I am disappointed that they got rid of all the services they used to be good at, especially Printing new bank cards at the branch, which was actually the whole reason I joined the bank in the first place!

Poor customer service. Very easy to set up an account but it's all down hill after that. Also, not suitable if you work with international clients with multiple currencies.

Very difficult to use online banking personal account. Never work properly. If you forgot your password, you are in trouble, as customer support is helpless. Mobile app is too simple, don't have features other banking apps has and not working properly most of the time. Always " something went wrong" on the screen. Staff in branches polite, nice people. You can order lost card to be remade for you in branch, this is good. But online banking services are very poor quality comparing to other banks, need to do something with it.

Im currently on the line trying to speak with somebody who can help with a cashpoint transaction yesterday..Tried to £100 cash out and only £80 received..and the last £20 note was only visible by the corner....Extremly stressful as contacted HSBC outside whose branch it was ...realising and thought was my barclay debit card...only to find out its my Metro bank card which i rarely use.....nightmare here, been cut off once already and now waiting after 1hr and 27mins!!!???? and counting im again on hold continually....IM going away tomorrow to wales for a holiday...i need to be doing much better things....BAD

Metrobank were always the best in terms of their opening hours. Open 7 days a week with long hours. Not anymore just Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm. Totally useless hours. I will have to close my accounts forthwith.

Rang them up to apply for a mortgage as Metro and Nationwide were the only two doing 10% deposits. I was told they didn't do it over the phone. Told to go into a store to do this. Being in the north of England the closest store was a decent drive away but still went to a branch. Walked into to store to be greeted by a rather patronising lady who then told us no, you do mortgage over the phone. I explained I had already rung Metro and that was the only reason I had travelled to that branch only to be told "yeah well you rang the wrong number you should've spoke to the mortgages team." Now I thought I had rang them? Even so how can the customer care team not have just said "i'll put you through" or even "this is the wrong number, please ring the mortgage team on ###". Anyway we sat down with a lady who talked us through rates and deposit amounts who was actually nice thankfully (the only reason for the second star, otherwise this was a one star review). This is where we found out they weren't even offering 10% deposit mortgages, only 20%. So the person I rang earlier that week lied about not only having to do a mortgage in person but also the deposit amount they'll accept. I couldn't believe it. Honestly I don't think I'll ever pursue opening any accounts or loans etc with Metro after this. And I really do hope this was a one off and no one else has to deal with a similar situation to this.

When this bank started, they were enthusiastic, helpful, getting going – very proactive. Now they're not very much better than the others and in fact their systems are poor, IT systems are poor and their staff although are still enthusiastic, they don't really seem to know much about their systems and they seem to specialise in giving stock answers. Very good that they can replace a lost card within 10 minutes at a branch. Why can't the other banks do this? However, in the case of Metro Bank, new broom sweeps clean – and they're not new anymore.
