I bought an extended warranty so i would not have to pay out of pocket if i had to use the warranty. Well the time came that i needed a new transmission and was told my policy only covers a used one and i still have to pay almost 1500 out of pocket. i don't have that kind of money cause i live check to check. So what's the point of paying all the money each month if I'm still going to end up paying for the transmission or what ever goes wrong. I will be looking for another company to buy any further warranties for vehicles.

No Faith With Merit Extended Warranty Co.
I am extremely dissatisfied with Merit Extended Warranty Company's handling of my repair claim. Despite keeping my monthly payments current and my account in good standing, my claim was denied without a written explanation clearly stating why. Merit blamed the Mazda dealership for allegedly misdiagnosing my vehicle, yet relied on the dealership's written report and photographs to make its decision. I trusted the Mazda dealership's expertise in diagnosing Mazda vehicles and expected Merit to fairly evaluate my claim according to my warranty agreement. This experience has left me feeling misled, frustrated, and questioning the value of the coverage I have been paying for. I believe customers deserve transparency, accountability, and a clear written explanation when a claim is denied. I would like Merit to reconsider my claim and provide a detailed explanation supporting its decision. I am extremely dissatisfied with Merit Extended Warranty Company's handling of my repair claim. I also believe that when Merit disputes a diagnosis made by an authorized Mazda dealership, it should not base its decision solely on written statements and photographs. Merit should send a qualified, licensed automotive technician to the dealership to physically inspect the vehicle, verify the diagnosis, and independently assess the necessary repairs before denying a claim. This would help ensure that decisions are based on accurate technical findings rather than assumptions made from a distance. As a paying customer who has kept my warranty payments current, I deserve a fair, transparent, and thorough evaluation of my claim. Denying coverage without an adequate investigation and a clear written explanation undermines my confidence in the company and the value of the extended warranty I purchased.

I just don't understand why is it…
I just don't understand why is it taking so long to long to get a measly $25 refund for a tire repair. So far all I have been getting is the run around about my money. This company was recommended thru the dealership where I purchased my car. I advise you to pick another company because this one holds on to your money owed back to you😮 If I could have gave them a 0* I would have! Believe it!!!

THEY WILL DO WHAT EVER POSSIBLE NOT TO PAY THE CLAIM.
In may I had engine work done on my pickup. A very long-drawn-out process by Merit. Call to enter claim. Verbal approval accepted to proceed, but then once my mechanic verified issue, I had to wait days for one of their people to come to the auto shop to verify and say yes that’s what’s wrong and then tell the auto shop what they were going to pay or not pay for. It was a joke; majority of the parts and fluids that had to be remove or had become contaminated due to the required process to identify and access the area damage to make the required repairs were denied, what a scam and still charge there $100 fee too.
Weeks later I brought my pickup back in for engine light coming back on. The auto shop called in the claim and was told ok to proceed. This was the email sent to them with what was needed and complied. I attached the Email Merit sent to my auto shop, clearly stating either type of data was acceptable.
MRT158005-3 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS REQUEST
To Process this claim we need a copy of:
- Work Order with Mileage, VIN, and customer information
- Itemized Parts with part numbers and Labor ( please reflect repair time vs diag)
- Any Code or Freeze Frame Data
- Picture of failure or Failed parts on the vehicle.
- Maintenance Records for Vehicle
The repair must be Authorized before work can be performed. Repairs done without prior Authorization will result in claim denial.
If there are any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you.
After the review from a 3rd party company based in Florida who reviews all their claims, they declined the claim, because they said they needed the Freeze Frame data and wouldn’t consider till then, knowing that once the battery was disconnected the Freeze Frame data could no longer be extracted, because the computer will reset once the battery is reconnected, but clearly stated on the document from Merit instructed my auto shop what data was needed which they fully complied by sending the error codes (any codes) from the computer from my pickup prior to disconnecting the battery, which Merit clearly stated any code or Freeze Frame data. I’m not sure who runs the show at Merit, but it surely looks like another entity. So, I’m not sure who was getting my money. I called, because phone request from my shop to try to clear up this discrepancy went conveniently un responded. Since Merit wouldn’t respond back with my auto shop, I called back twice, both times I was treated rudely, intimidated and talked down to me like a little kid, very unprofessional and unacceptable. Very quick to twist the conversation and contradict themselves with no respect or focus on the concerns of the customer. This just proves they will twist and nick pick to prevent any or very slim payout. THEY WILL DO WHAT EVER POSSIBLE NOT TO PAY THE CLAIM. Please save yourselves the headaches and throwing your hard-earned money out the window on this SCAM laced company.
If I could give a zero star I would. your company is a disgrace. How I and my auto shop was disrespected and treated was unprofessional and unacceptable. Only until I went to the insurance board in Missouri and Michigan did you finally do your job. I hope that the insurance board looks much deeper into your unethical practices and issue the highest disciplinary and punitive punishment deserved to you.

I just feel that I was given a bad deal…
I just feel that I was given a bad deal with my car each time it needed service when it came to the warranty. I'm supposed to have the diamond package and nothing was never covered under my warranty.
