No longer using Maev.
We’ve been loyal Maev customers since August of 2022. I’ll be honest — when we first started, the food was fantastic. You could see the quality and balance in every bag, and we felt confident feeding it to our dog. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill over time. Our most recent shipment of 8 bags was the last straw. Each bag had an extremely low amount of blueberries — only 10 to 20 total — despite blueberries being listed as the 5th ingredient on the label. That’s not a small variation; that’s a major inconsistency. Even worse, all 8 bags contained an excessive amount of organ meat compared to the standard beef content. Organ meat in small amounts is fine, but this was overwhelming. It led to loose stools and, shortly after starting this batch, our dog developed a hot spot — something we’ve never dealt with before. While we can't confirm a direct cause, the timing raises concern. Maev’s response was to offer 3 free bags. While we appreciate the gesture, it doesn't restore the trust we've lost after years of loyalty. We've decided to end our subscription permanently. Pet nutrition is too important to play guessing games with ingredient quality. I’m sharing this review so other pet owners are aware and can make informed decisions.
