I needed to order an “upgraded” wheelchair for my 87 year-old mother who is in a memory care unit. She has a reclining chair she loves, but can no longer use it, so I went on a search for a reclining wheelchair, not even knowing if such a thing existed. I found what looked like what I was looking for on the Med Mart website. It had also been recommended that I order a cushion. My only experience buying a wheelchair was a transport wheelchair I bought in a local home improvement store. Before making the purchase of the reclining wheelchair and appropriate cushion online, I had questions, so I called Med Mart. I was connected with Daryl (not sure if the spelling is correct) who was a wonderful customer service representative. He was able to answer my questions and make sure I was ordering the appropriate sizes of both the wheelchair and cushion. The order was placed that day (it was late on Friday), and it arrived at my mother’s assisted living facility in only 4 calendar days (Tuesday). I also have to add that the price was extremely reasonable and the best, and the shipping was free!!! The cushion I chose was on back order and will be received soon. I am very pleased with the whole purchase experience, especially given the fact that I did not see what I was purchasing in person, nor do I have any experience with this type of purchase. (I found out there’s lots to consider when purchasing a wheelchair!) Based on my experience I would highly recommend Med Mart when ordering DME, especially if you have questions before you buy.
