I learned about this from someone who started writing for Medium. They suggested I write for Medium as a way of bypassing the magazine marketing racket. Since I'm a veteran writer/journalist, author and expert on psychological issues (being a licensed therapist myself) I figured this would be easier than doing my own blog. I've also read articles by what I consider good writers that are well researched and/or topical. I still don't know the lay of the land as a writer on medium (how it all works), but I appreciate having a forum to write things that may not make it into conventional magazines. It's also a great way for new writers to get started. Maybe I'll change my mind down the line, but for right now, thumbs up!

Okay, I'm feeling a little bit out of synch with these other reviews, but I came here because I am ready to recommend Medium to my friends, family, and colleagues. I am attracted to articles I found were originally posted in Medium, following up with specific authors/websites and again, finding writing that I cared about. This curation, along with the opportunity to listen to many stories, makes Medium worth at least $5/month. If you care about writers getting seen and being paid (something), $5 is nothing - really - less than most beers, and some coffee and face/shaving creams. I'm getting so many emails and recommendations on what to read and who to donate to - I delete most. I look forward to sitting down with a beer or walking in the neighborhood listening to Medium. I'm a new fan and I'm happy to pay for my subscription - 5 Stars from me!

Almost every medium.com article is either fake, or promoting a scam. I wish the damned site didn't exist in the first place!

I've only read acticles found doing google searches for things and every article had citations and were notated so you could see that they had been researched which I found very helpful when deciding if it was the truth or more trumped up garbage to appease the masses since everything is slanted to not hurt peoples feelings on most other sites.

I should have read reviews of this site before I subscribed to decide if I wanted to subscribe for $50.00 per year. I had previously read through FB shares some amazing articles and wanted to continue. So, I just did so without checking the reviews. My understanding when I subscribed was that I would receive articles in my inbox which I could read at my leisure. NOT! You have "a year to read" what they send you (which is a lot to sift through). I decided to suspend my membership until I could finish what I already had on my plate and which was sent to me within the parameters of my allotted subscription period. I was totally disappointed to discover that once your subscription has ended, so has your ability to read the articles that are already in your email box. I am off this site for good.
