We're sorry you were not completely satisfied with your recent order. We do charge order up front. In most cases orders ship right away. We have been having issues with certain SKU's from Littmann lately. It looks like your order was placed on Sunday (we are not here on the weekends). The out of stock item was received and shipped four days later. You should have received an email initially explaining that an item on your order was out of stock and that you could switch the item, cancel the order or wait for the item to come in. We don't typically ship cases alone but it looks like we did for you. There is, of course, no additional freight charge for back ordered item.
