Off-Centered Engraving.. Regretting it now
I bought a top of the line Littmann stethoscope for my fiancee who is a registered nurse on a cardiac unit and had her stethoscope break the week before. Since the one I was buying her was roughly $200 and came with a 6 year warranty, I assumed it would last a long time and wanted to surprise her by also having her name and title engraved on it. When she opened the box she was so excited and then I saw her smile fade when she saw the engraving on the diaphragm of it.. It is noticeably off-centered to the right and just looks awful. Because the acoustics of the stethoscope are amazing, she cannot bear to part with it but would love to have it replaced with centered engraving and send hers back to the company. I know the engraving was offered free, but had I known it would be done sloppily, I would have opted to buy a cheap plastic ID tag to attach to the stethoscope instead. Rather than showing off her new gift to co-workers, she is hiding it to make sure no one sees the engraving. I really wish this could be made right, especially for the overall price I paid.
Response from Medisave US LLPMay 8, 2013
Dear Adam I am so sorry to hear you were dissatified and can assure you this will be dealt with today by one of our customer services representatives who will contact you to ensure this is rectified. Please can you e-mail us a photo if possible so we can establish what has happened? This could be down to the manufacturer misengraving the cantering. The Littmann name is not always equally spaced around the perimeter of the diaphragm. We use a very precise machine and process and as you can see from responses below this is highly unusual. Obviously we want to esnure you fiancee is happy with her product and we will endeavor to sort this out today. We hope we will be able to sort to both yours and your fiancess satisfaction as soon as possible. Kind regards Medisave Customer Services
