This is just brilliant – you’ve sent me a message asking me to rate your service, but it’s rubbish. You don’t reply to emails, and I only managed to collect the parcel by some miracle after it had been sitting in the shop for several days because the courier was too lazy to come to me or got the address wrong – we’ll never know which. I heard nothing from you – not a single email – but then, by some miracle, I received an email with the delivery service’s tracking details, where I could see the whole history. You were too lazy to send it to me, as the order was dispatched on 10 September, whereas I’d bought the part from the shop on 7 September. Also, regarding the bike: I have a Marin DSX1. It’s a good bike, but I have some questions. There’s a spot on the frame that hasn’t been painted – at the back, where the brake is attached. How is that possible? Also, the holes where the cables go through aren’t protected by anything, and the paint has already worn off in those places because the cables move freely and the holes are narrow. The bike is good, but your service is appalling, considering that I ordered a part for 11 euros and the delivery cost me a further 15 euros. I gave it two stars because there is no customer engagement whatsoever.

I had a disappointing experience with North Shore Cycle in Fox Point, WI. I'm 180 cm tall (5'11") and purchased a Marin Four Corners 2. The dealer recommended a size M, but when I saw the bike at the shop, it looked too small for me. I double-checked with the shop manager, who assured me that the M was the correct size and that the next size up (L) would be too large. Unfortunately, after riding the bike, I feel that the size M is too short for my body, and I'm not comfortable with the fit. I'm disappointed with the sizing advice I received, especially since I raised my concerns before taking the bike home and trusted the dealer's professional recommendation. Overall, a frustrating experience. I expected better guidance when purchasing a bike of this price and quality.

Hi, thanks for sharing this – we're sorry the Four Corners doesn't feel right yet. A bike that doesn't fit takes the fun out of every ride. At 180 cm you're in a spot where fit depends a lot on your proportions and how you like to ride, so small changes can make a big difference. Adjustments like a longer stem or a tweak to saddle position often add the reach you're missing. We'd really encourage you to pop back into North Shore Cycle so they can look at your setup with you. If you'd like to talk it through with us too, you can reach us at [email protected].

My bike was delivered quickly. Assembly was super easy and I was immediately impressed by the quality of the bicycle. I will definitely consider Marin for my future purchases.

These rubber grommets are poor quality. Unlike the very rubbery grommet that fits tightly in the chain stay to snuggly hold the cable there, these appear to be made of plastic rather than rubber, and do not stay in the top tube, they just keep popping out meaning my cables are noisy in the frame.
