Great street view and directions

We all use Google Maps in our cars as our GPS service, as it's so good ... that is, until it stops working! In December 2020, Google Maps on my Samsung smartphone started crashing every time I opened it. With no other GPS device, this has caused me huge problems when driving. Now I just endlessly get "Maps has Stopped ... open app again?" (and on to infinity!) I have tried all the fixes suggested by kind souls who don't even get paid, like clearing cache, carrying out a soft-reset of my phone, updating maps software, etc. but to no avail. The only thing that works for an instant is uninstalling updates and resetting to "factory version" of Google Maps, but I can't find a way to stop my phone simply reinstalling all the updates a few minutes later and I'm back where I started. And because it's an android phone, they also make it impossible completely to uninstall the app. I'm writing this bad review, because despite being a monopolistic company that makes squillions from its users, Google offers no way to getting support from them with this. If you look at their "support community", there are hundreds of people who have posted with the exact same problem, but almost no posts from the paid people at Google, and nothing which actually resolves the issue. (By the way, why do bricks-and-mortar companies, who make relatively little money, have to provide proper customer support, while these massive monopolies just have "communities"?) Google make the android operating system on my phone, as well as Google Maps, right? And it is obviously something THEY have done (probably an update) that has made my phone/maps start malfunctioning when it was working perfectly before. It would be such a simple software patch needed to resolves this problem, but they don't seem to care. Is it because my expensive smartphone is no longer the latest model and they're trying to make it obsolete by stealth? (PS: I tried to write directly to Google first, but after wasting half my day, I could not find any way. They say "open maps", then select "menu" top left corner, then "send feedback"... But guess what, no such option exists in Maps menu!). Yours sincerely, very frustrated, very disappointed consumer, still without a solution.

The app doesn't give you sufficient choices in the yes/not sure AND no/not sure section at the bottom; it's not compulsory to complete this bit but it's simply wrong. The choices should always be yes/no/not sure and not as it is. Also, when posting a review on Google sometimes the photo won't load.

What's going on in maps lately? I'm on default and when I come out of street view, the businesses are gone and I have to refresh. Sometimes, the website just freezes up when leaving street view. Fix right now.

Great service to look up locations, public places etc... Even for traffic information it's really useful. However the review system is not fair at all. Some reviews are never published, for no reason. Everybody is able to edit and add new places, so lots of spam and advertising is done in my city. Some edits take really really long to appear and some correct edits are just denied by Google. They used to have a great reward system for people who contributed (upload photos, edited information , etc..) but this is also been removed. So after all: good service but a lot of misinformation and no way to correct it.
