They are really adaptable to your experience and prior knowledge. My mentor pairing was excellent, and I was able to keep up with the project even when setbacks arose. I've learnt many great things and valuable skills, such as: LaTeX, referencing, writing a paper... And I'll almost ceirtanly take advantage of the technical affinity I've acquired.

My Incredible Experience at Lumiere Education - Student POV
My experience at Lumiere was really incredible. As a high school student with no experience in research beforehand, I came into this with little confidence in my research and professional writing skills. However, as the program went on and I chose the topic that I was very interested in, I got matched with a mentor who was very compatible with me and my topic, which was sustainable biology, to be general. They helped me throughout every step of the way, from planning the research question to proofreading the final draft.
Additionally, the staff was very responsive in emails, responding within 12 hours. There was also a readily available writing coach, which was pretty useful as well.

Feedback with suggestions
I really liked sessions my mentor since they were useful to track my progress and work on the mistakes. I learned to reflect on my mistakes that will help me work on other projects in the future. I recommend people to join this program as it was my foundation in writing a research paper and I gained a lot of mistakes. However, I think it would more helpful if you could give feedback on milestones that we submit. I believe it would make the final research paper better as we would have the chance to work on the mistakes one by one with evaluation team’s feedback.

My experience at Lumiere was… wonderful and extremely insightful!
My experience at Lumiere was incredible! I had the opportunity to conduct research independently while also receiving constructive feedback from an expert mentor and gaining more knowledge on my chosen topic through insightful discussions. I also had the chance to improve my writing skills and refine my paper with additional workshops that were offered. The quality of the program was high since my program manager and the rest of the directors were willing to help with any minor inquiry and concern that came up. I would most definitely recommend the Independent Research Program to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge on a topic of their choice and developing research and communication skills.

Lumiere’s international-level rigor is no accident
I became a better thinker, a better debater.
Lumiere changed how I think. In my mentor meetings, I was always pushed to “define, define, define.” Every idea needed a reason behind it.
If you can’t define “the sky is blue” with a reasonable reason, then the sky can also be green if someone else can support it with facts. That’s what Lumiere does to you. It pushes you to go deeper, to question more, to actually understand.
One of my favourite parts? The Writing Portal. It’s a lifesaver when it comes to getting thoughtful, constructive feedback on your paper. Plus, the writing workshops break everything down so clearly that research starts to feel less intimidating and way more exciting.
And the mentors? Truly supportive. They don’t guide you. They’re genuinely invested in helping you produce your best possible work.
If you’re interested in research but don’t feel “ready,” that’s fine. I wasn’t either. You learn by doing.
And to my peers from Uzbekistan: don’t wait too long. This might be your moment :)
Proud to be a Lumierian.
Happy researching!

A Journey of Curiosity, Growth, and Meaningful Mentorship.
My experience with Lumiere has been truly inspiring, and I genuinely enjoyed every session as each one helped me understand complex ideas in a clear, engaging, and meaningful way. The program pushed me to think more deeply, ask better questions, and become more confident in expressing my thoughts. I’m especially grateful for my mentor, whose guidance was patient, insightful, and incredibly encouraging—they made learning feel exciting and personal rather than overwhelming. The program manager was also very supportive and ensured everything ran smoothly, creating a comfortable and well-structured environment throughout the journey. Overall, this experience has been both enriching and motivating, helping me grow not only academically but also in my curiosity and approach to learning. I feel truly thankful to have been part of such a positive and inspiring program

Challenging, supportive and truly enriching
As a student in the Lumiere Research Program, my experience was intellectually challenging and deeply rewarding. I worked on an interdisciplinary research project combining storytelling and financial literacy, which initially felt difficult to navigate.
What made the experience great was the consistent support. My mentor provided clear guidance, and the weekly sessions and writing coaches helped me refine both my ideas and academic writing.
The program does an excellent job creating an environment where students can explore complex topics with real support. Overall, it helped me grow in confidence, critical thinking, and research skills.

Do not have an interview here!!
One of the worst places you can have an interview with!
Not only an unprofessional copy/paste feedback! They do not tell you what is the compensation of the role and keep asking generic questions.
A failing interviewer and organization.
