I was excited to purchase Lucyd smart…
I was excited to purchase Lucyd smart glasses, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. The original frames failed, and although the company sent a replacement under warranty, I experienced continued issues. They eventually refunded the cost of the frames but refused to provide any additional assistance. The biggest problem is that these glasses require custom prescription lenses to fit the frames, if needed. In my case, after the frame failed for the 2nd time, I was left with expensive prescription lenses that cannot be used in another frame, resulting in a significant financial loss. Customer service was polite, but the final response was that they considered the matter closed and would not offer any solution beyond the frame refund. I wish I had known this before investing in prescription lenses. My advice to anyone considering these glasses is to think carefully before purchasing prescription lenses unless you're comfortable risking that additional expense if the frames fail.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, and we're sorry the experience didn't live up to what you hoped for. We wanted to make the frame issue right, which is what prompted us to refund your frames in full. We also understand that being left with prescription lenses you can no longer use still feels like a real loss, and we don't want to leave it there. Since tech moves fast, we're constantly refining and upgrading our designs, and the current generation has come a long way from earlier models. We'd love to get you into a newer pair you can count on. Please respond to our info request referencing this review, and we'll make sure it’s made right. Thank you for giving us the chance to improve! We’d like to clarify for anyone reading: Lucyd glasses don't require a prescription. They work as smart glasses right out of the box, and prescription lenses are an optional upgrade for customers who want to wear them as everyday eyewear. When lenses are made to a prescription, they're custom-cut to that specific frame.
