Hi Becky, We’re sorry to hear the lenses didn’t work out for you. It sounds like the progressive design wasn’t the right fit for your needs. Regarding our policy, we don’t advertise free returns- only the first exchange is complimentary. The $8 fee helps cover part of the return shipping and processing costs, but we understand how frustrating that can feel. We are happy to make an exception and do not charge the $8.00.
