Livingston Research doesn't deserve any stars; it's a complete waste of time and energy. Please avoid them and spend the time on a more reliable platform.

Livingstone Research is a Masterclass in Unprofessionalism and Injustice
Livingstone Research is, without a doubt, the most frustrating and unreliable platform I have encountered in my professional career. After making me wait two years just to get my account approved, they terminated my profile after only 10 successfully completed jobs—all of which followed their policies to the letter.
The most insulting part? They provide zero reason for termination. No feedback, no warning, and no right to appeal. They operate with a complete lack of transparency, treating writers like disposable tools rather than partners. If you value your time and professional dignity, stay far away. They don’t just lack security; they lack basic corporate ethics.

The language test is a scam
The language test is a scam; despite significant complains, still, the company doesn't take any initiative to make transparent their language test's results by showing where the applicants make the errors. I've taken the exam 4 times; by reading and learning everythings from their course book and everytimes I got 18 out pass mark 21; lastly I've given up and considerd the company wasted my valuable time. The Company has no right making another time wasted.

Livingston Research: Just Another Scam Freelance Site
This platform is a scam. They arbitrarily decide who to pass and who to fail. Even their so-called English language test is unreliable, filled with grammatical mistakes that make the process look rigged. The writing test is no better — applicants are rejected without any grade, feedback, or explanation. Yes, there may be freelancers who still work there and earn money, but since 2023 the company appears to have fallen into the hands of scammers and incompetent people whose only goal is to exploit new applicants and students.

Struggling with Payment Verification – Requesting Fair Support
I have been trying to set up my primary payment method with Livingston Research, but my requests keep being declined. My PayPal account is verified and can receive funds, yet it has not been approved.
The issue is that PayPal now automatically masks part of the email address (***), and I am being told the full email must be visible in my screenshots. This is a PayPal security measure, not something I can change.
At one point, out of desperation, I tried using another freelancer’s PayPal details after advice from an African freelancer forum, where they said it was possible since PayPal is often very hard to verify in some countries. I realize now this was a mistake, and I sincerely regret it. After several attempts, I have since successfully verified my own PayPal and am ready to use it properly.
I want to be clear: I am willing to provide any proof, even my login details if necessary, to show that this account is mine and valid. My only request is to be treated fairly and given the chance to access my funds through my verified account, instead of being permanently disabled over one mistake I already admitted and corrected.
Many freelancers from regions like mine face these same struggles. I hope Livingston Research will show more understanding and flexibility in such cases.
Response from Livingston ResearchSep 11, 2025
Dear Freelancer,
We appreciate your sincere feedback!
Kindly note that providing login details is not needed since they contain private data that should only be accessible to you. As far as we can see, the issue with payment method setup has already been resolved in the email thread.
However, if you have any questions, feel free to contact our team at [email protected]. We will be happy to help you resolve any issues or provide additional clarifications.

(Waiting List)
I’ve worked on a few freelance platforms, but none really challenged or inspired me. I’m a committed academic writer, and I care deeply about doing meaningful work. In December, a friend told me about Livingston Research. She spoke so highly of it that I finally applied in March—and was excited to be placed on the waiting list.
Since then, I’ve reached out a few times for updates. The replies have been kind, and I understand the process takes time. Still, I remain hopeful. I truly want to be part of this team and contribute my best.
Just out of curiosity—what makes a candidate finally move from the waiting list to active projects? I’d love to know how I can keep improving while I wait.

Thank you so much for your kind words and support — we truly appreciate it! 🌟

Actually pathetic
Actually pathetic, they give you an English test before you can sign up, but the questions are very much trick questions that could have more than one answer depending on the context, and they also have questions where they have the same answer twice, but they swear in the beginning that only one answer is correct, so it's a 50/50 shot when it comes to if you're choosing the right one. And if you fail, they say, "You obviously need to practice your English more," completely condescendingly. I have a degree in English, and it is my native language. Oh, and don't get me started on the homophobic question they had.
