I’m happy with my experience
I’m happy with my experience. My counselors David and Jenesis were great. 238 days sober now. Kinda pricey since I paid out-of-pocket, but I guess it wasn’t too bad considering I got my life back.

The counselors and therapist along with group was very helpful in my recovery. Being able to work online was very convenient and helpful in managing my time. I have been sober since January 18th and by sure will a guidance from Lion Rock I was able to achieve sobriety.

This is a great program for those who prefer an online program. As an older adult, I prefer in person interactions. I would also suggest not having older alcoholics with a history of abuse, not be encouraged to write their life story until much later in the program.

I had the most surprisingly amazing experience with LionRock. I had been involved with other mainstream recovery groups and felt this time I needed something different. I got what I was looking for! A positive and unique experience that allowed me to be open, and vulnerable in a safe environment so that I could recover and grow as a person. I highly recommend LionRock for anyone looking to recover from substance abuse.

I had two of the best therapists I’ve ever had (one for group and one for individual) to help me with my addiction to alcohol. The ongoing group therapy was extremely important in maintaining my long-term sobriety, and it was something which I could not obtain locally. It was comparable to the treatment I received at a world-renowned inpatient treatment center, except this was done over the internet in my own home. Locally, I did attend a lot of AA meetings and did a lot of work with my sponsor, but Lionrock is completely different. The one negative part was that there was higher turnover of clients in the group than I would have liked. Hard to keep a therapeutic setting going when there is too much turnover. I have finally achieved long-term sobriety, and I give a lot of credit to Lionrock.

It's appreciated that Lionrock Recovery holds free online AA meetings with free verifications. The fact that they use the Zoom platform gets the kudos in my book, since that's such a great meeting platform. There are two reasons for docking a star off of my rating. 1) It's evident that the volunteers who run the meeting are not as familiar with the Zoom functions as they could be – this sometimes results in open mics for multiple participants and a general sense of being less polished than the meetings could be. 2) The old meeting verifications that Lionrock used to use were highly preferable, as they offered a clean PDF that was easy to save to one's computer (Adobe Sign was the program they used). The new verification system is just a google form which emails you what appears to be a filled out survey that does not give you a PDF for filing, just the email (Google Forms is the new program they are using).
