Hello Mark, Thanks for leaving a review about us! We are sorry that the UK charged you £17 to import your order. Unfortunately we can not control the amount of money that any county charges for import duties. We are held by law to declare all packages sent abroad properly by contents and value. Improper declaration of packages is a serious offense. We must note that the customs charges are charged by the country of import and not LiftMode.com We should note however that you can send a gift to a relative in the UK tax free as long as they meet the provisions here: https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty Please let us know what you thought of your products! Hi Jeff, Sorry about the delay with your shipment! We're refunding your shipping cost right away! UPS Surepost is usually pretty good, but sometimes there are delays. From your tracking, I noticed that it shows "A late UPS trailer arrival has caused a delay. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible. / Delivery will be rescheduled." I know it's frustrating when these shipping delays happen; please know you can reach out to us anytime by email or phone and we'll take care of you right away. It doesn't look like you got in touch with us directly about this; we include our email and phone number on the emails we send for order confirmations and shipping confirmations.
