My request for refund of unused monthly services was denied. Representatives were not able to produce paperwork to back up their inaction. And were not very agreeable in the process

There have been several false alarms. Nothing happened to my mother but they call saying they received a signal. On the other hand she has fallen twice and had no contact at all.

Twice when I tested the gps button, it did not know my location or didn't go through to the call center. Once at home, once away. I know it depends on cell towers, but I wouldn't recommend the gps.

We are aware that at times the GPS does not properly show the location, and as you have said, this is usually dependent on cell towers in the area. This is something that we have been consistently working on the past year, releasing updates that better allow the GPS system to track the location as well as making the processing speed faster. This continues to be something that we will work on as available technology evolves.

I returned the equipment because I was contacted by an agent advising that for an additional fee I would have insurance on the equipment. The insurance should have been included with the monthly fee I paid.

The protection plan that we offer is an additional fee because of the price of the actual device itself. Without this extra fee, we would be unable to provide the low prices of our devices because many users would be replacing their devices frequently, which would in turn force us to raise our prices to account for the increased amount of replacement units being shipped. Furthermore, a device needing to be replaced using this insurance is a very rare occurrence and only happens when the device itself is faulty or broken. We have a very rigorous testing process that we do on our devices before the leave the building to ensure that the quality of the devices that we send out are as high as possible, Thank you your review Lee.

It goes off without it being bumped My Mom fell 2 times. One time needed stitches in her head and the device did not go off when she actually fell. She could not get to the button around her neck. Both times fell in awkward where hands were trapped. The only security is that she can press the button if needed.

I am sorry to hear about what happened to your Mother Elizabeth. At a time when a person falls in a way where they are unable to reach the button, our fall detection technology should be useful in allowing a user to get help if they are unable to request it themselves through the button. If you believe that the device is not activating when it should i would recommend calling our customer service line so they walk you through a troubleshoot of the device. We switched from LifeAlert to Lifestation after a lot of billing issues. After my mother-in-law broke her back about 16 months ago we upgraded to the fall detection button. A couple of issues: sometimes when she turns over in the night I guess it thinks she is falling, so it will alarm and scare her! But I'd rather have it too sensitive than not enough. Second, they say it should last about 4 years, but it's only been 16 months and is needing to be replaced due to low battery. It's taken 5 days for the new one to arrive. In the meantime it alarms several times a day and in the middle of the night, telling her the battery is low. Again, frightening her each time it happens. I called to see if that alarm could be shut off, but it can't without turning off the entire unit. They are always quick to answer, and I like getting the text alerts when it alarms, along with a follow up call if there is an actual emergency.

We have heard concerns before about the fall detection being too sensitive at times, but because we need to make sure it detects any sort of fall, it can at times seem to be overly sensitive. We are of the belief that we would rather the device activate when there is not a fall than the device not activate when a fall occurs. Unfortunately there is not much that we can do to speed up the delivery of the new device, so i apologize for the any difficulties you and your mother-in-law experienced during this waiting period. While we do service the entire country, everything does get delivered from one location so we are unable to have a swift shipment to every area of the country. The battery in your device should have lasted longer, so when it gets returned to the building we will investigate it to discover what the problem is. The replacement device that you received should have a proper battery and should not experience the issues you mentioned here. We do have two different monitoring centers, but a button press can be given to a monitoring specialist at either location, regardless of proximity. If you feel that now it is taking too long to answer the most likely reason is that when you push the button there are already many other people who have already pushed their buttons and are talking with a monitoring specialist. We only have so many people available at any one time and sadly this does mean that you will need to wait for someone to be available. However, our specialists are trained to deal with each call as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to ensure any potential wait time is as small as possible.

MY alarm is too sensitive. It says I've fallen when I have only bent over to pick up something or even when I have sat on the toilet quickly. When I tell them I'm OK they call my Daughter every time . The pendant is so big it pushes out my shirts no matter how I adjust the length.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review Zelma. I understand that the device being too sensitive can be a problem, but we have to make sure that the device is able to detect any kind of fall. Given the two situations of the button going off too often or not when it needs too, we believed having the device be more sensitive was the best way to ensure that we can make sure it activates when someone truly does fall. We are sorry for any inconveniences that this may have caused but at the moment with our available technology there is no way that we can make the device accurate enough to only detect true falls.
