They charged me exorbitant rate. Tried to reach out for more explanation on the charges. Called and called. Left forever on hold. Finally heard back but no explanation of the charges - just said I needed to reach my insurance deductible. Looked into the statement and found out they were charging rates for care I didn't even receive.. Reporting them to my Insurances fraud department. .. Can't even cancel my upcoming appointment yet because you have to call to do so … but they never answer … They just want your money.

I am giving two stars because the providers that I saw were great. It is the billing department and their whole system that make this place horrible. I was charged a cancellation fee almost double what my appointment would have been. They make it impossible for busy people to cancel within 48 business hours. I managed to get someone on the phone within 24 which is what most businesses require. When I spoke on the phone there was not warning of the fee or the amount. They do not have a voicemail system set up so you have to call within their hours and their online appointment system doesn't offer a cancelation option. This itself caused me stress and anxiety which is horrible that a mental health company makes me people feel this way.

What a nightmare dealing with billing. I was on hold for 2 hours before I gave up, I tried using their callback system 2 days ago and am still waiting. It is near impossible to get any issue cleared up and what is worse is if you call after 3:30 EST, they are closed. I give up.

I am a current employee of lifestance health. I believe they are dishonest and not transparent. I do not believe that they are interested in helping people. I agree with nearly every single review. I am leaving the company based on their corporate greed. I do believe for the vast majority the staff is absolutely dedicated to providing excellent compassionate care. Staff is getting squeezed too. LifeStance not increased administrative staff to meet the needs of this growing company. More and more is falling on the provider. Lifestance buys up and takes over established practices. I was already working in an established practice, this one, when they bought us out. It has been a nose dive since. Administrative support has decreased dramatically. Company demands have increased dramatically. The most dedicated staff will end up leaving because they won't be able to tolerate the corporate mindset. It's disgusting. I did not become a nurse practitioner to not help people. Helping people in this environment is very difficult due to the cuts and the impossible online system.

Two stars because the billing issue was rectified after several weeks of back-and-forth and escalating to corporate. My therapist had no experience in what was advertised on the Lifestance website, and made my condition worse. I asked for a referral to a specialist several times with no follow-through - they just decided that I was not trying hard enough to make their type of therapy work. I was strung along for weeks, then finally moved on to someone who had experience in my issues (I had to find this person outside of Lifestance because they once again never followed up about a referral!). Months later, I was hit with a huge surprise bill from Lifestance. The billing department and customer care team said that I was not eligible for financial assistance because too much time had passed since my last appointment, and that my only option was a steep payment plan that I couldn't afford, or to risk getting sent to collections. It was not easy to contact anyone for help, a lot of phone and email tag. I reached out to corporate about the absurd bill and quality of care to ask if I could at least get a reasonable payment plan, and they completely removed the charge.

I scheduled an appointment after my primary physician referred me to their service. Over the phone, I was told they accept my insurance. I wanted to double check on my insurance's side. My insurance rep said while the provider may be contracted, my insurance will not pay for it if their office is not contracted with my insurance. I got into their patient portal and thought that would be an easy way to contact them. I left so many messages and never heard back from them. I had to call few days later to cancel the appointment.

Do you have a Grandma? Does she talk about weird things that make no real sense? Does she tell you about 15 things that don’t go together? Does she not answer her phone when you call so you can’t reach her? Well Lifestance is your Grandma, it makes no sense. My shrink joined their squad a few months back. She’s awesome so I came along to continue my treatment. First off I tried to make an initial appointment at Lifestance l When you call you’re presented with 3 options by the automated attendant. 1) Talk to an “Intake Specialist” 2) Xfer to an extension and 3) Talk to the operator. Speaking of, have you noticed that every job now has “specialist” in the title. At the gym, Training Specialist, at the drugstore, Pharmacy Specialist and even at the dog groomers, Grooming Specialist. Back in the day the only way you were a valuable resource to an employer was to do many things and do them well and you were secure. Specializing in anything unless your a Doctor is limiting. That means you do 1 thing. Even if you’re great at it, the value of 1 thing is limiting. Anyway back to Lifestance, I press 1 for the specialist and no one answers….like ever! I must have called 10 times over the next week and nothing, just like Grandma. Option 2 transferring to an extension tool you to a rapid busy signal. And option 3, the call got disconnected. So I went online, created an account and I was presented with a link for all of my intake paperwork, how great! I completed everything but when selecting “submit” the site gave me an error and sent me back to the form page, which was blank so I had to do it all again! For like 40 days I tried to make an appt with no luck. So I left a voicemail saying I was with the Lottery and I needed to talk to Susan about collecting her winnings. I thought Susan was a common name and someone would call me. Someone did and I was able to finally make my appointment. The intake person took all my info over the phone. The video appointments I scheduled were fine but before the appointments Lifestance inundates you with text messages and emails reminding you of the appointment. It’s endless! But when it’s appointment time you have no instructions on where to go, what to click, nothing. But if you have any issues they want you to call them…at the number that no one answers! So I went there for an in person visit….wait for it…they made me fill out all the intake crap AGAIN! I truly don’t know what Lifestance even is. It appears to me they don’t know either. It seems Lifestance doesn’t employ them but rather provides a home base for them to work from. Bottom line, if someone from Lifestance reads this, like maybe a “Review Specialist” please pass the info to a “Hiring Specialist” and have them call me. I can help clean up the huge mess that’s been created. I’m a “Fix Crap Specialist.” Check on Grandma. Stay safe people.
