The Greenville RI facility have very inexperienced receptionist. I made an appointment for April 18 but when I called to ask a question, a different receptionist answered and said that I wasn't even in the system for that day! Glad I called! Another receptionist gave me an appointment for April 14 but in was telehealth! Forget about seeing a psychiatrist until November. My plan to seek out professional help for alcohol addiction by setting up a therapist before I entered detox was simply shattered. My hopes were ruined, trying to even get to see a therapist by 2 incompetent receptionists.

This is absolutely the worst mental…
This is absolutely the worst mental health provider I have ever used. I have tried 3 therapists here that don’t seem to care and are not helpful, to the point I question if they even have an education in mental health work. Worse so is my medication provider. Besides her refusal to do any evaluation of my mental health or provide advice or referrals, she cannot write a correct prescription even once. All she has to do is look at my account and see what she provided me last month, but I guess she doesn’t do that, because she writes incorrect prescriptions over and over again to the point my pharmacy is so mixed up that getting a refill is a nightmare. In addition, she has failed to provide me with knowledge about a medication I absolutely needed to know in order to not end up in the hospital, or dead. She is a dangerously bad provider and Lifestance is such a mess I don’t know who to complain to or if my complaints will be heard. I will reiterate what others have said about billing as well; I recently found a major mistake on my bill and had them correct it though they did not admit fault nor apologize. I have paid many Lifestance bills without reviewing them and I wonder how much money they’ve taken me for. Yes it can be a bit easier to get in bc everyone has left them, but it is not worth it. Ignoring these reviews would be a major mistake that you will regret, trust me.

Purposely Impossible to Communicate With
I saw a therapist and psychiatrist through LifeStance in 2021, but had to stop my appointments when I lost health coverage. Now in 2023 I have health insurance through a new job and would like to schedule with a new provider. I tried to log into my LifeStance patient portal and there was a message that said my account had been "archived" and I would have to call PCPA to reopen the account. Well, I did, and 53 minutes later I am still on hold but have somehow been the "next caller in line" for the last 18 minutes...not sure how that's even possible. Feels like I have just been on hold in an imaginary, arbitrary queue for an eternity. I tried calling a different department on a separate line and now I'm caller #5 in a different queue. I guess I'm just supposed to sit on hold with 2 different depts indefinitely hoping someone will reopen the account?

Update
I think I have written a review earlier in my experience with Lifestance but wanted to write an update. The problems were many, from splitting one visit's billing into two charges in an effort to squeeze more money out of Medicare, all the way to being abandoned by the nurse in charge of my care. All in the span of a few years.
My doctor of 20 years was bought out by Lifestance. They assigned me to a nurse for management of meds only because at that time, I was finally stable. working, and no longer homeless.
Lifestance immediately began making a mess of my care by first eliminating one of the two medications I was taking. Next they failed to get my work accommodations form filled out on time leaving me at huge risk of losing my job.
I switched nurses hoping it was just that one person who was messing me up. The second nurse, M. Phillips, agreed that I needed the accommodations, so I thought I was safe. Then she, too, began changing up medications, which I agreed to try. She prescribed multiple medications at one time so that it was impossible to know what medication was doing what.
She also pushed therapy (through Lifestance, of course) and I agreed that everyone would benefit from therapy but at that moment, I was beyond poor and could not afford yet another doctor. I literally live at the poverty line. She seemed okay with that.
After she missed several appointments at the last minute (with no doctor or nurse to stand in for her) my accommodations renewal came up.
To my shock, she just flat lied, telling me she never said she would fill out the form for my employer. After informing her that I had the appointment recorded where we discussed it, she became angry, accused me of breaking the law (it's legal in my state), and shortly thereafter, abandoned me with no notice or reason as to why.
Later, she claimed that it was because I "refused" to go to therapy and "refused" medication. Both those accusations are blatant lies and again, I have full recordings of our discussions about both those things.(She even compliments me on my willingness to try whatever she prescribed.)
After a complaint to corporate, a woman named Jordan said they would investigate. Not surprisingly, I got a letter from them telling me of her claims and they naturally decided she did nothing wrong.
It is telling that Jordan (corporate) said the case would be closed unless I had information that would substantiate my claim, but they know already that I do. I have the recordings and they conveniently never once asked about them even after I reminded them multiple times that I have this proof. Her "efforts" to help me find another caregiver consisted of her telling me to see my PCP or call a hotline.
This place is nothing more than a corporate cult designed to make a quick buck off psychiatric care, IMO. It is apparent in everything they have done to me and to others I read about on here.
Please, if you have mental health issues and need serious care, do not use Lifestance.

Save yourself and avoid at all costs!
In summary, total lack of accountability and nearly impossible to get a hold of on both their website and when you call so nothing really seems to ever be resolved. These people need to have a serious sit-down with their operations department or find someone who actually knows what they are doing. Furthermore, it may behoove them to consider changing their mission statement because I can assure you from my experience that this is a business that does not "help people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives by improving access to trusted, affordable, and personalized mental healthcare." They have made my life more difficult and frustrating then it was before and the idea of "access" is a joke since you can't access people to talk to or their website more than half the time. I have had issues with keeping a psychiatrist multiple times through them which I imagine is because of their own business practices so they cut and run. To top it off, they just send you a message that tells you the psychiatrist is no longer with them and ask you to call them back to figure it out. You do know you are working with people that have often serious mental issues and you can't even be bothered to call them and help them take care of that vs. leaving someone vulnerable completely hanging? It doesn't even matter that you do eventually call them because you will sit on hold forever or they just won't call you back. People need their medications and you are putting them in positions to be completely without and at risk, and taking zero accountability. I was finally paired with another psychiatrist and she was awful in her own ways and left me totally stranded when it came to my medication which was already hard to find, and when I tried to speak with someone at Lifestance about it, I had to leave a VM with a "supervisor" that was never even returned. No follow up, zero accountability. And not lastly, but all I have the energy for today is that I tried multiple times to get set up with a therapist (website didn't work as usual) and there were times I was waiting to be connected for an hour and had to get off the call for other commitments. The one time I was actually called back, was 2 minutes before the start of a work meeting so I BEGGED her to call me back and she said she would call me at a specific time and, surprise surprise, I never heard from her or anyone else ever. Again, you are dealing with vulnerable people and should be absolutely ashamed of your abandonment, recklessness, and carelessness especially with the lofty claims you make about the type of business you are. You Glassdoor employee reviews say a lot about who you are as a business to top it off, so there is a clear need to seriously reevaluate what it is you do and if your goal is really to help anyone but your own pockets by preying on the already weak and vulnerable. I have to wonder how many people were finally at their wits end with getting help, which was already probably difficult to muster, and finally gave up and considered or ended their lives because of your business practices, and I would not be surprised to later hear about a massive lawsuit against this business if they haven't already settled many out of court. Just shameful and pathetic as far as companies go. Based on your reviews, you probably hurt more than you help and should just stop giving people the false sense of hope so they can actually find someone who cares when they finally have the ability to do so.

Billing department is a disaster
Please listen to the reviews about Lifestance, they are accurate. They've been billing me incorrectly for months now and when I finally got someone to refund the money, the negative number disappeared from my balance but I never received the refund. Trying to get someone on the phone means hours of hold times and nobody calling you back or answering messages on the patient portal. The providers are good, but the administration and billing is shockingly dysfunctional.
