Great experience, quick to answer questions and timely

LaurelRoad is what I’ve always been looking for. My dislike of paying 6 smaller loans every month and not feeling like I was making a dent was frustrating as was the variable interest rates due to my loans being private versus federal. Meeting with Jim at KeyBank was amazing...he got me, he understood my frustration, and he was honest with me in a compassionate way. He also advocated for me as his customer as well as broke everything down in lay terms as I’m not pretending to be a financial guru LOL - let’s leave that to the experts! The application process was smooth and I really liked that I could upload my documents with pictures of them which made it real time and instant. Their customer service team was amazing in getting back to me in a timely fashion and answering any questions. It was a humbling experience to say the least but worth it in the end. It also took a huge load off of my shoulders in the knowledge that I could pay one organization, once a month, with a payment that was reasonable and I could still live my life. I would highly recommend talking to someone about LaurelRoad...it will change your life and get the pesky school loan groups off your back!

The process of application was extremely easy. I knew exactly what they needed and when they needed it by. Communication throughout the transfer of loan was amazing. The only this that could have been better was the time it took to approve. But, overall I highly recommend Laurel Road if you need to refinance your student loans. Great company to work with.

The online process was quite simple. They had competitive rates, and were better than most other companies. They took a little longer for the final approval process than other companies that I have worked with (2-3 weeks vs. 2-3 days). There was an online instant messenger app that I used once logged into my account and that was very helpful to get instant answers to some questions. Overall I was very satisfied.

1* rating Slow underwriting times, indifferent customer service. 10 days had passed since I submitted all my documentation, which seemed lengthy for a decision. I decided to call and check on it and was told it can take up to 30 days. I applied with Earnest that same day and was approved in less than 24 hours. Same rate and term I was pre-approved for with LR. Just way too slow for such a simplistic transaction.

I really wanted to like this option for refinancing student loans, but it took over 3 weeks for any progress and every time I called, I was told it would be "another 5-7 business days".

Easy to apply and low interest.

The process was very clear and professional. You gave us an opportunity to better handle the ability to pay off students loans at a more friendly percentage rate.
