Waited 12 HOURS to be seen
I recently started a new job where I have to wait 90 days to be insured. Cobra options are too expensive for my family and I so I had to make the unfortunate choice of going uninsured for the next few months. Of course, my children and I all got sick. Thankfully, their colds subsided but mine remained, causing me to develop an ear infection. As someone who is no stranger to ear infections, onset symptoms, treatment, etc., I recognized what was happening to me. Because I cannot afford a $300 urgent care visit out of pocket and I don't want to waste the time of ER physicians, I chose to try K Health. I heavily researched the app and the reviews before signing up for this (out of desperation). I initially waited FIVE HOURS to hear from a doctor but unfortunately fell asleep before I could respond to their message. I resubmitted the claim and waited an additional SEVEN HOURS to speak to a doctor. She asked me several questions, I explained the situation, my understanding of ear infections, how I have been treated in past situations etc.. She asked me if I had an inner ear camera to take photos of the inside of my ear??? I said no, she told me to go to the ER. She then sent me the number of a no cost urgent care near me...I called and it's permanently closed. While I recognize that medical professionals have to follow guidelines, this app is clearly EXTREMELY limited to what they can do for patients. We should not be seeking help on the internet to receive basic medical care. This app and this country is an absolute disgrace.
