Kensui V2 Max Steel Mace was the third item I’ve purchased from Kensui Fitness. The quality of craftsmanship of all their products keeps bringing you back again and again. I’ve been using my EZ Vest, YinYang Pro Parallettes and now V2 Max Mace constantly taking my fitness to the next level.

I’m officially a Kensui Fitness enthusiast. My gym is full of Kensui tools and I’ve never been disappointed, it’s all I need for my training.

The duo belt is great. A liiiiittle big in the waist, but not a dealbreaker. The bungee cords to add weight for dips/pull-ups are strong and durable. Such a clever idea. Wish I could use it for belt squats but the cord is too long for that! Kensui always has really cool products.

My EZ Ropes and Swissies are both top quality, durable and fun to use pieces of strength training equipment. Shipping has been quick and packaging secure. I do truly appreciate the unique, innovative and affordable products that Kensui provides to the home gym community.

I want to share my amazing experience with the stellar weight vest from Kensui. I have been having so much fun training with this gear that I overlooked making a review. Ha ha Weight vests have been in and out of the news these past years over all the wild benefits they can give to people of all ages and fitness levels. From studies on fat people losing and keeping off more pounds, over many years and not just short term, by using a vest along with diet (way better than diet alone) to results on how good vests are for bone health to cardio benefits and hormonal issues even, the list is long. Weight vest training is not fully understood but has benefits that are unique to it versus other kinds of resistance work one can do. If you are going to get a weight vest- get the best one: Kensui. Get the longer weight horns and you MUST get the hanging triangle clips as that is the only sane way to load 200lbs or more by yourself and get in and out with ease. There have been so many good reviews by now that the basics of this patented device are well known as is the flexibility in how you use it and its benefits. I don't have to repeat what hundreds have said before me. You should get this device if you want to try a different way to load your body for all sorts of exercise movements. This vest lets you go truly heavy but of course you can adjust to any load and that makes this a device you can play with in your training all year long. You need to go light and medium at times and this vest lets you play around with all levels, as you merely have to change how you stack plates which you already own. If you use this vest with 100-200lbs plus and use a trap/hex bar, standing on a box or cinderblocks, then you can get most (but not all) of the benefits of barbell back squats without a barbell and without a rack. If you have a barbell and plates, then this vest lets you train in ways which only add to your barbell power and skill. The best is less cool than sandbag training but more taxing as once you strap the vest on, you have to fight the weight be it for a walk or for a workout or just when doing yardwork etc. You can always drop the sandbag and leave it on the floor when you rest. The real secret of long term gains is the power of negative or eccentric motions when weighted. Arthur Jones of Nautilus fame, knew this in the 1970s. He trained NLF players who could do pull ups. These men weighed 250-300lbs and could not chin up. In two weeks using negative reps (hang from the bar at the top and then lower down) they could go 5 chins. Their high bodyweight to start was enough for the negative reps to work miracles. With the Kensui weight vest, you can get on a dip bar with 200lbs and do negative dips only. Step up and fight the weight down and repeat, even if you cannot yet do the positive raise on the dip bar (yet!) with that added load. That will build your tris and your chest so that when you bench you can work to higher weights. Yes, you can do this with a dip belt but you can ALSO add the dip belt with the vest; there is no limit on the negative portion. The vest is always on you no matter what, even when you sit down, while you can drop a weight or unload a belt. Try a 40 minute session with 100lbs and no rest and see you how progress after you recover and go back without that weight. The Kensui vest is great for making TRX or other suspension training work actually get results. Just dancing around with bodyweight on those handles is good but limiting. Add even 50lbs (or less) and do the suspension movements and your body reacts in new ways and makes those programs finally of benefit to people of all fitness levels and makes that a long term workout system - again just from a quality weight vest as the new factor. Weighted push ups, even just the negative parts, on a deficit like boxes or bars or benches allow for endless hand placement and hence endless ways to tax your shoulders and chest. The vest is very close to magic in that respect. Your pushing power will go up once you recover and in time, as you apply better technique with your new strength. For people who are strong and think 300lbs max is not enough, after all you might be able to use way more than 300 on some barbell movements, think again. Once you get the weight in a few hundred pounds, then there is a trade off between reps and more weight for similar gains. Tom Platz would do insanity barbell squats of 40 reps with 315lbs. He'd do two sets. Why did he not just do in the 600 weight range for doubles or triples? He could lift that higher weight but he liked the volume. The gains are nearly (not exactly) the same either way and most people cannot really use 500lbs plus and even those who can have real safety risks, more so if you are in your 30s or 40s and still able to move insanely high poundage. I'd say more but there is a limit to this review - check out the Kensui site for mine and other full reviews!

I was looking for an adjustable weight macebell at a reasonable price. I've had it for a few weeks and planning on ordering the steel clubs.

Adaptabells are well made, super simple, cost effective and great for leveraging the Olympic weight plates I already have. I have the adaptabell pro and they are easily able to hold the weight plates I want as well as the lighter weights my fiancée uses. Although the max pairs hold more weight; we didn’t need the 300lb max. I’d recommend the bundle with the adapters and centering pieces as you need them to hold more than 2 plates a side and it’s the most cost effective. These aren’t a replacement for my heavier dumbbells, though they could be but we had others first, but these are great for adding another pair of dumbbell sets to use simultaneously to my fiancée and for trips. Buy them, the bundle is easily worth $100.
