I had a few people buy my book to see if I would receive any royalties, and for months now (maybe even years), I haven't seen a penny of any type of royalty. I called and asked Amazon about this, and of course they couldn't give me a straight answer as to why my profile was showing no sales and why I haven't received any royalties. I believe most (if not all) publishing companies and Amazon rip people off and sale their products without the person knowing so the person receives nothing in return. I can't even search my books on Amazon under my book name's or my author name. They couldn't give me a reason for that either...smh I also paid for advertisement and marketing....you guessed right...it didn't work! Smh

Let me say this about KDP Publishing and selling on Amazon in general...The issues with Amazon (the percentage they take, the control over what you can sell/publish and what you can not, the lack of transparency, NOT PAYING CORRECT ROYALTIES, the creation and selling of similar books/products along side of your product - this is why it is so important to have a unique brand but even then Amazon will steal your hustle, very poor/lack of b2b customer support, and just the all-out disrespect showed by Amazon to individual publishers and sellers) made me go to a direct NOT SOLD IN STORES MODEL and I learned a completely different online business that is EASIER AND MORE PROFITABLE and way better than doing business with Amazon. In my opinion, after you give Amazon their cut and deal with their nonsense, it is simply not worth it. Plus, with one click of a button, you are completely done with Amazon. No matter how much time, energy, and effort you have invested with Amazon, you are done with a simple click! This click can be by an employee, Amazon, or even a competitor that has access to the Amazon brand system. I have created secrets to beating Amazon that exposes the dirty truth about selling on Amazon, a.k.a. working for Amazon since you are not really in business for yourself, you simply are working for Amazon if you do not create other ways to sell that can actually beat Amazon at their own game. If you are interested in these secrets and what business that I do that is WAY BETTER and easier than dealing with Amazon, reply to this post for info. BTW, KPD Publishing STILL OWES ME MONEY. You have been warned, stay away from selling with Amazon. PERIOD.

Deflated any motivation to write another book. They keep most of the money to pay printers etc.

On December 2nd, I ordered "author copies" of my books to be delivered by 12/28/2020 by 8pm. That date came and my estimated delivery date was changed to 1/8/2021 by 8pm. On 1/8/2021 in the amazon app I was given a message that said my package is "running late" and if I had not received my package to come back and request a refund or replacement. I requested a call back from KDP publishing on 1/11/2021 I talked to a lady who had no resolve and I requested to speak to a manager. KDP had connectivity issues and my call was disconnected twice as I was being transferred to a supervisor. I was told my book order hadn't even been fulfilled despite what was displayed in email and on amazon. I then received a email from a supervisor redirecting me to Amazon retail due to it being a shipping issue. On 1/12/2021 I requested a callback from Amazon retail. I placed on hold while the representative contacted USPS, who was to deliver my books. It was said that the books had not even been fulfilled yet nor had USPS received them yet. I requested to speak to a manager and was transferred to a supervisor. The supervisor had no resolve besides a refund. I explained it had been almost 45 days since the initial placement of my order. I requested a replacement twice and was told I could not get it. I then asked for a manager or someone who could fulfill my request. I was told there was no one available or anyone who could do the replacement. I asked for the corporate number and or customer relations and the supervisor had no number or resource to provide me. He said he could give a refund and then I can reorder my books. I explained I did a pre-order for my book and that response is totally unexceptionable because I would have to wait yet at least another 3-4 weeks for my books to arrive. As a author this is a complete inconvenience. I had people do per-orders in great exception for the book. I am extremely disappointed in the process of receiving my books. As a second time author this has affect my business tremendously in a negative way. I will now have to pay out of pocket to ensure my customers have their books they pay for. This will cause me to have to lower the cost of my book to purchase them on the front end because there is no date as to when they will receive them with the original method.

For no just reason, KDP content review blocks my book, claiming that they found content (text and/or images) that is widely available on the web. After proving to them that all the content in my book was of my own very hard work, I get an email that my book passed their "review," I got happy too quickly because after that email I received another email informing me that KDP SUSPENDED my account for the very violations that they had told me was not so because my books were successfully passed!!! The feeling of being helpless and that in a split second KDP can take everything you have away, I don't like that at all.

I have spent the last year trying to get Amazon to resolve some problem with royalty payments. First they kept telling me my bank was rejecting them ( my bank had no idea Amazon had tried to make a payment to me ) I have also tried 3 other bank accounts and Transferwise which gives a US account specially for Amazon payments. So far nothing has been recieved. They are beyond bad. After all this time they have now requested a screen shot of the royalties I "beleive I have that are unpaid". As if the account dept have no idea how to look at my account. God knows if I will ever get my money, but I will unpublish everything and I advise everyone not to use kdp!

Dude, these guys forbid people who publish books in Turkish.

Very disappointed with KDP. I published my first book a couple of months ago and I was so happy. I realised that I wasn’t getting many purchases so I decided to contact support to offer my book for free for a while to hopefully get more interest and reviews. I had it free for about a month and now I want to restore the price and they won’t let me. They sent a vague email stating that I can’t change the royalties and some other nonsense but now I’m stuck with a book that I can’t sell anymore. I wrote the book and can’t even set the price. What a farce! I advise anyone not to set their book to free. It will be a nightmare if you ever want to charge for it again! The support is poor and you have to wait 4/5 days for a response. This is far too long and completely unacceptable given that product prices fluctuate on a daily basis.
