I have not signed in my KDP for quite some time. When I tried signing in, it automatically sends me to a page to put an OTC (One Time Code) in to access my account. But, it sends it to my old number, obviously of which I do not have access. The system keeps looping me back to this page no matter what I do. No number to contact them. I called Kindle. They can't help. They can't even understand what I need since I keep getting routed offshore to someone who "parrots" a phone script. I wasted over 2 hours of my day trying to update my phone number in KDP. I have no way of taking my book off of Amazon if I wanted to. ALL I NEED TO DO IS UPDATE MY PHONE NUMBER IN KDP!!!

KDP has been terminating massively publisher's accounts in error by their faulty AI Bot. There is no explanation on their side or contact with someone else than a Bot. They don't want to explain what happened just closing the account instead. When I asked for an explanation they said I manipulated services (which is not true and they don't have any proof) and "cannot offer any more details about it". So they closed my account, took my 5000£ in royalties, and don't want to explain what happened. I appealed many times saying that this must be an error and tried to explain myself but they don't even reply... I sent an email with the official complaint- again no reply. They steal the publisher's money without any explanation or contact on their side. KDP used to be a good platform but now is rubbish... So many publishers have been banned in Feb and March and KDP just took our outstanding royalties and charged us for ADS. Horrible!!

KDP terminated my account without telling me exactly what I did wrong for just one of my books; they said I had misleading information but would not tell me what exactly. They refused to pay my royalties and send generic replies to my appeals - stating they are withholding their decision to terminate my account. There is no one to talk to. Advice to potential KDP users - don't create all your books on KDP platform; if they shut down your account, they will remove all your books from the shelf and you may not recover the account back - all the hard work!

The editor posted the book with the wrong title and jacket cover. They know we changed it due to the title being too similar the work if another author. I paid for a marketing package that was not produced. They refused to correct their errors . Now I have to fix it. Out $2500 for zero editing. I would call it a scam!

Amazon KDP claims that when your book files are uploaded they should go live within up to 72 hours. I uploaded an eBook and paperback file for a book by an author that my company represents. After nine days, the title was still in review, with no communication from Amazon KDP about the delay. We needed the title to go live so that our author could order author copies for a launch and book signing. I contacted their helpline through the live chat, and was told by the person responding that they couldn't do anything except contact their review team who would email me within the next 24 to 48 hours. I got an automated email telling me that it can take up to 72 hours for a book to go live (which is what it says on the website anyway). I replied to this email and got the same automated email back in reply. I've since had the books printed by a printing company for the launch. If we had relied on Amazon KDP and their shambolic service, we would have had to cancel the author's launch event and book signing. We are now in the process of moving all our print and distribution from Amazon to more competent companies, and would recommend other publishers to do the same, as their customer service is non-existent.

Iniziamo dall’inizio… Prima email: amazon sospende la pubblicazione di due libri online da un anno alti in classifica…chiede i diritti di copyright alla quale rispondo con documenti richiesti. Risposta di amazon in sintesi: ok abbiamo controllato e abbiamo avcettato la documentazione ma i libri continuano ad essere bloccati. Seconda email: dicono che il nome autore non corrisponde (usavo uno pseudonimo) rispondo con documenti richiesti e la risposta e’ sempre la stessa con la cosa che però sbloccano i libri ma devo modificare delle immagini… e va bene facciamolo anche se ho già fornito la documentazione… Terza email: i margini non vanno bene, libro bloccato nuovamente… Dall’oggi al domani mi hanno chiuso l’account senza motivo rubandosi quello che è il MIO guadagno. Non ho violato nessuna norma, ho fornito tutta la documentazione del copyright ma quando kdp decide che deve chiudere l’account non c’e’ documentazione che tenga. La cosa assurda però è che non ti danno delle spiegazioni ma ancora più assurdo è che il guadagno degli ultimi due mesi se lo tengono loro, ho chiesto anche di donarlo in beneficenza ad un’associazione no profit e nulla, non hanno accettato quindi per ne questo significa solo non essere corretti e giocare con le persone,giocano con le persone non curandosi del fatto che la gente co vive con quei soldi, sono molto delusa e schifiata da questo mondo.

This company closed my account but my books are still available for sale??? How does that work exactly when I spent hundreds of hours on my content and my 8 books are still available for sale? But I can't access my account because it's CLOSED...why did they close my account instead of simply REMOVE the books I was supposedly "in violation " for??? Scam! Horrible. And no explanation or further emails to reply to my questions about which books they have a problem with. I go to log in to take them off only to find my account was closed. The email said I would be suspended until I removed them. Well, 2 days..TWO.DAYS, LATER I go in and my account is closed from me? And my books are still available for sale??????? You are stealing money THIEVES!!!!!!

I'm not surprised to see the mass of negative reviews for Amazon KDP. I published my first book back in 2018 and subsequently added two more. Everything seemed ok after this, and as I wasn't prepared to spend a fortune on their extortionate advertising plan, I knew I wouldn't get much exposure. However, I did make some sales and earned some (very small) royalty payments. But then odd things started to happen: a friend told me they'd bought my first book, and even sent a photo on Facebook to show me. Strangely, the sale did not appear in my sales figures. When I contacted KDP they told me there hadn't been any sales, and then said it was because the book had been ordered and returned for a refund (???) Then I started getting royalty payment notifications, but no actual payments. Again, I contacted them and was told these were 'computer glitches'. After this, I received small payments without any notification or entries on my sales report! I also contacted KDP when I found someone selling new copies of my book. This should be impossible under Pay On Demand. They told me I should be flattered as someone thought my book was worth selling! Although my books are still live, I intend to pull them as soon as I find a decent, reputable and reliable publisher. Absolutely appalling service. One star is too generous. The date of my review relates to my last royalty payment which was the princely sum of 1p. Maybe I'll retire?
