I thought my case was unique until I began to read through other peoples experiences here on trust pilot. I have come to realise that this is definitely a strategic measure by Amazon. I had three books published that were doing quite well. They terminated my account, without any reason Just like everybody else in this review they kept giving me the runaround. I appealed and appealed again. They kept sending me emails to say they needed more time to investigate. Then they send an abrupt computer generated response from someone with an Indian surname saying that my appeal had been Rejected. I had to take drastic measures by putting my books on lulu.com which is more expensive. And this was a terrible experience, and as others have said already, you have been warned. Find some other way of publishing a book.

KDP will answer all your questions with a form letter that does nothing to fix an issue with books on Amazon Books! Actually, your question is transferred to the Amazon products group which seems like a transfer to the Twilight Zone! So, you go back and ask the question another way and again they send your question to the Twilight Zone! This reminds me of a riddle: Pete and Repeat were sitting on a fence and Pete fell off. Which one was left? And the recipient answers, of course, "Repeat!" OK, so, "Pete and Repeat were sitting on a fence and Pete fell off. Which one was left?" Answer: "Repeat!" So, OK, "Pete. . ." (Get the point?). With KDP, when you ask for an answer to an issue, they send you a form letter - repeat, repeat, repeat! Now do you understand?

KDP are scammers, my book has been published... selling well and then my account was terminated? without giving me a reason? On the day of my Birthday? all money my book earned are gone, and my reputation and hard work are gone. Avoid KDP from Amazon at any cost.... shame on this company

I had three books on Kindle Direct Publishing and out of the blue my account was terminated with no explanation, not even an email. When I went through their 'Contact us' links, there is no number to call, you can only contact them by email. Why? Don't they have phones? When I called the Amazon helpline, they said there is no number available for KDP. Why? When I sent an email I got a computer generated response informing me that my account had been terminated and I was not permitted to open another one. When I requested money owing I got no reply. It is extraordinary that they are allowed to run their KDP business model like this, with a two-thirds market share, leaving little alternative and not be investigated by the Competition And Markets Authority (UK) and the Federal Trade Commission (US) for anti-competitive practices and malpractice. Unless people start writing to the authorities, like I will, they will continue to exploit writers and steal their money without any accountability. The comments here suggest they have been getting away with it for far too long. If they can't fix it themselves, they should be forced to fix it. If you are thinking about self-publishing on KDP, think twice. It takes a lot of effort and they have ultimate control and wave the sword of Damacles without hesitation or explanation. KDP treat self-publishers with amazon-ing disrespect and there is no practically no customer service at all. You have been warned. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My book has been removed. I have tried to appeal to no avail. It seems like their messages are computer generated. I'm accused of opening another account and being in breach of their terms and conditions. I challenged this and got an abrupt e mail telling me that my appeal had been refused. There was no reference to any money owed to myself! I think the organisation needs to be investigated bearing in mind that others (see reviews) have had a similar experience. If anyone is considering using this organisation to publish material, think twice. There seems to be very limited accountability for their decision making. I am shocked by my experience as I expected better from Amazon.

They don´t even pay! Horrible experience one more time. Last problem: it's May 2 and KDP Amazon has not paid February royalties. I have been checking and many other authors (UK, Canada, Australia,...) have the same problem: they have not been paid. So Amazon get paid 60+ days ago for selling our books... And they don´t pay us when 60+ days are gone? WORST Kdp Amazon service ever. WORST.

Amazon messed up with some technical issue, which meant the e-book was not published until 4 months after the release. The marketing is just awful. Page 35 in an american online publication that nobody sees and dropped into social media with nobody managing it. Still waiting for a first payment. Apart from that...
