Poor Quality, 23-Day Shipping & a $50 Overseas Return
My daughter ordered a dress from this company because the website made the return process appear straightforward, prominently advertising “30-Day Returns” and describing returns as “simple.” She felt comfortable making the purchase believing that if the dress didn't work out, returning it would be easy. Unfortunately, our experience has been anything but easy. The dress took 23 days to arrive. The quality was extremely disappointing—cheap fabric, poor construction, and nowhere near the quality we expected for the approximately $70 price. In my opinion, the quality is comparable to inexpensive fast-fashion clothing from SHEIN, which would have cost considerably less and likely arrived much faster. The return process is where things became even more frustrating. We were told that returning the dress would require shipping it overseas at a cost of approximately $50. Instead, customer service offered us two alternatives: keep the dress and receive a 15% refund—only about $10.50 on a $70 purchase—or keep the dress and receive a $50 store credit. Neither is a reasonable solution for us. A $50 store credit means ordering from the same company again, waiting through another lengthy delivery, and potentially spending additional money since many of the items we saw were priced around $69. After being so disappointed with the quality of the first purchase, we have no desire to purchase another item. We requested to return the dress and receive a refund to the original payment method. It has now been five days since my latest email with no response. Had we understood before ordering that a return could involve approximately $50 in overseas shipping—or that the alternatives offered might be a roughly $10.50 partial refund or store credit—we never would have placed the order. Please pause and research this company carefully before purchasing. Read the fine print of the return policy and independent customer reviews. Don't assume that prominently advertised “30-Day Returns” means the type of straightforward return process you may expect from other online retailers. Based on the poor quality, 23-day delivery time, expensive overseas return, proposed resolutions, and our customer-service experience, we would absolutely not purchase from Kaylas Collectives again.
