They Sent Me a Handbag With the Security Tag Still On!
I ordered a handbag directly from the Karl Lagerfeld website as a birthday gift for a friend who personally selected it. When it arrived, the security tag was still attached, making it completely unusable. I contacted customer service multiple times and explained that I’m leaving the country soon and can’t return the item. Unfortunately, their response was cold and unhelpful. They kept repeating only two options: 1. Drive to the nearest Karl Lagerfeld store — which is an hour away, costing me about $150 in transportation, or 2. Ship the item back — which I clearly explained I cannot do, as the gift must travel with me. I asked for an alternative, like sending me a tool to remove the tag (which, ironically, you can find on Amazon for a few dollars). They refused. No flexibility. No concern for the customer experience. They promised I would get a call from corporate — that never happened. No follow-up, no email, no support. I’m now left with a gift I can’t use, just days before I leave the country. This situation has been both frustrating and embarrassing. As a loyal customer, I expected much more from a luxury brand. Sadly, Karl Lagerfeld’s customer service has shown me they only care about the sale, not the people who trust them. I’ll never order from their website again, and I don’t recommend anyone else does either.
