Hi Tracey - we ask that our patients respect our provider's time just as we respect your time. When you miss an appointment unannounced (or cancel late, within 24 hours of the appointment), we charge you a fee to compensate your provider for their time since they were expecting you. This is no different than no-showing or late-cancelling a reservation at a restaurant. We do understand that life happens and that sometimes patients have to miss an appointment. That's why, as a courtesy, we waive and refund the fee if you rebook and attend your next appointment. We hope you are well and to see you again soon, thank you.

Hello - we're sorry to hear that you're upset and we share your frustrations. Unfortunately, our billing practices have to conform with the requirements of your insurance plan, as we are forced to charge you the copays and deductibles they instruct us to. If it were up to us, all mental healthcare would be free, but that unfortunately isn't the system we live in. Your most recent visit in January was billed to Cigna, and because your deductible reset at the end of the year, you were charged the full cost of your visit. You also have a new insurance coverage that you've provided us to use for the future (a BCBS plan). That plan has a $500 annual deductible. Once met, your visits afterwards will be free. We know the beginning of the new year is always painful due to those deductible resets, so we are also happy to offer you our zero-interest payment plan to help spread that cost out over time.
