Lied to and overcharged
My experience with Blossom health was very negative. I had initially scheduled an appointment with a provider to discuss my ADHD. That appointment was then rescheduled without my consent. I had to cancel that appointment within 24 hours of the scheduled time. Per the policy if I did not reschedule within 72 hours, I would be charged $50. I rescheduled immediately within minutes of cancelling, avoiding that $50 charge and being in compliance with policy. Blossom then rescheduled that appointment without my permission, knowledge, or consent. I showed up on time for the appointment that I had scheduled to learn that I had been charged a $100 no-show appointment fee because my schedule appointment was rescheduled hours before the time that I had scheduled it for, without my permission or my knowing. I would never do this to my patients, and it was appalling to see that it had been done to me not once but twice. After a very stressful email conversation, I was promised that these charges would be removed from my account and I would not be charged for the cancellation fee or the missed appointment fee. I then have my appointment with my provider. She did not focus on my ADHD, and instead asked me many questions about childhood trauma, my upbringing, and things that I personally felt were unrelated to my ADHD and more related to her curiosity around my CPTSD. I kept expressing repeatedly I had a therapist for those problems and was there to see her for my ADHD. I also expressed that a particular medication that I had been on in the past for ADHD reacted very badly with my system. I come to find out that is the medication she had prescribed me. I have canceled all upcoming appointments with Blossom and have asked my pharmacy to reshelve the medication. I do not feel comfortable scheduling with blossom. I then check my bank account and see that it is missing $150 because Blossom has gone ahead and charged me the fees they said they would not, which I have documented. I am refunded $100 after more lengthy back and forth. When I ask about the $50 cancellation fee I shouldn’t have been charged at all, I’m told that “per their policy and with their system” they can only refund the most recent charge. That’s hogwash, and a bad excuse to steal from patients. No billing system or EHR actually functions this way. It’s blatant theft. I’m still trying to resolve this. I feel jerked around, stolen from and lied to. I would never in 1 million years treat my patients at my practice this way and the fact that I was treated this way is appalling. I do not recommend using Blossom. Addendum: I saw Blossom had replied, and I’d like to add a few notes and clarify things for my review. When I met with my provider, as I mentioned, I did not feel she was as invested in my ADHD -what I was requesting to be seen for- as she was in my CPTSD. I reminded her repeatedly I was there for ADHD, and had a provider for my CPTSD. As for the refunds, I genuinely felt like I had to wrestle them out of Blossom. The $100 fee I was charged after I was told it would be waived. The $50 fee I shouldn’t have been charged. I was within Blossom’s policy of “reschedule within 72hrs and the fee is waived.” I have it documented (as does Blossom) I rescheduled it within minutes of cancelling. I messaged in to Blossom, and was told I’d be refunded the $100 but not the $50 fee “due to policy” by a rep named “Queen.” That allegedly Blossom could only refund the most recent charge to the account. Firstly the $100 wasn’t the most recent charge, my copay was, and secondly, the fee shouldn’t have been charged at all. I had to point this out sending screenshots of their own messages to me, and then and only then did I receive the full refund from a different rep. This experience has been beyond frustrating, and unprofessional.

Hi There - I've had a chance to look into this, and this is fair feedback. While some of the mishaps that made your experience with Blossom so frustrating were genuine misunderstandings, a few of them were entirely our fault. We apologize and regret that we made your life more difficult when we're here to make it easier. 1. Your initial appointment was rescheduled to a similar time on the following day because your provider had an unavoidable scheduling conflict come up that meant he no longer could make it to the original time. We did email you twice about this change, text you, and also call you. And you did seemingly acknowledge the change in appointment date & time. But I agree that rescheduling an appointment is not a great start to your care journey. 2. 10 minutes before that rescheduled appointment, you cancelled citing not feeling well and were charged a $50 late-cancel fee as per our attendance policies. 3. You then worked with our support team to schedule a new visit to make up for the one you cancelled. There was a miscommunication as you are based in PST time zone but our staff quoted you a time in EST. So we booked you for 12:30pm EST, and you rightly expected that to be 12:30pm PST. That's our fault, and we own that mistake. 4. So when the appointment occurred at 9:30am and you (quite understandably) did not attend, you were auto-charged a $100 no-show fee. 5. When we were finally able to get you in for a visit on the third try, that worked out and you were able to meet with provider Mirandine A. 6. We did refund you both the $50 late-cancel fee as well as the $100 no-show fee, but understand how frustrating all this was and how that doesn't make things right. All we can do is apologize and own up for the mistakes that we made. We wish you well. And if there's ever a chance you'd be willing to give Blossom another try, we'd love to show you why we're beloved by some many patients. Sorry again for all this.
