So due to past experiences i was nervous about moving again. These guys allieviated all my anxiety and fear tho and this is the only company i will trust to help me move my stuff. They were very comsiderate and treated my belongings like they were their own. Nothing got broken nor damaged and they were super polite and understanding. I really appreciate the service i received and am very impressed!

These movers were fast, professional, and handled all my things with care. Everything arrived safely and right on time. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable local movers.

They lost our boxes
They lost our boxes! They have never been found. 13 out of the 75 boxes were never found. We were advised by a competitor not to use IVL because they use third party movers. Should have listened. When the boxes arrived the deliveries didn’t even have a checklist they were delivering against. They could have given the lost boxes to anyone or they are rotting in a warehouse somewhere. Irreplaceable possessions. We are heart broken.

I highly recommend this place to anyone…
I highly recommend this place to anyone needing to move and is stressed out. Ivl took the stress off me and made this experience better than what I thought it was going to be. Everytime I have moved in the past it's always been a bad experience. Not this time ,this time it was wonderful.

This move was a complete DISASTER!!
This move was a complete DISASTER!!! Do Not use International Van Lines. They said their quote would not change. The day of the move they asked for $5000 more on the spot or they would not do our move!! We had already paid them $10,000 which we would not get back if we didn't pay the extra $5000! This was TERRIBLE!! Then they did a horrible job unloading. Almost every box was put in the wrong room and on the wrong level of the house!! They didn't put back together at least 80% of our furniture that they disassembled!!! They said they never used contractors without packing skills to unload, but they did. They packed sharp wire hangers in with clothes that are now ruined! They packed heavy items on top of breakables that are now ruined! I will have to hire and pay someone to reassemble furniture and move boxes to the correct room. I can't even get to basic things I need because they put heavy boxes that I can't move on top of them. They didn't care at all about unloading. They contracted only 2 guys to unload when it was 100 degrees! I called and told them about the boxes in the wrong rooms and level of house and about all the furniture not assembled. They really didn't care. WORST MOVE EVER!! DO NOT USE International Van Lines

Way better than expected…
It is always scary searching for & hiring a moving company; be it continental US or overseas move - we’ve had some terrible experiences & also really good ones - IVL came recommended by a fellow Brit from Seattle to UK, the quote was doable, so we decided to go with them. Were they the cheapest, absolutely not - but, from dealing with sales & getting a quote, to delivery here in the UK (with their collaborator here) it’s been smooth sailing (literally) - packers showed on time, courteous, professional & very efficient - we have A LOT of breakable stuff (far too much) but they packed really well & fast. Our container took 3 months from Seattle to Southampton, then another 4 weeks to arrange delivery to the Isle of Wight, they showed up today & these guys knew their stuff - fast, efficient & professional - unloaded in 3 hrs & then my fun began. Unpacking - which I will be doing for a while 🙄 all the boxes arrived, no furniture or boxes damaged. So far nothing broken, everything is incredibly well packaged - the mountain of packing paper is proof. The company here in the UK was Will Move

Terrible customer service
The first quote of the company for a « door to door service » was:
$3834, for a volume of 120 cf. (840 lbs.)
It would take « 6 to 8 weeks »
We first payed $2080 and then $2121… not exactly what was planned, because of a weight overages of 115 lbs… (the company asked us to focus on the cf, not the weight but that’s fine).
Our 20 boxes left our home in California on June 11th.
It left SF on July 4th (too bad for us) and we are still waiting for the cargo to arrive in Sydney.
And of course, after the quarantine, we should receive our personal goods more than 17 weeks after the pick up !
Even crazier, they ignored my last 2 e-mails (asking for help, and because their link to track the container doesn’t work). I rather believe that "service is not received".
That’s not exactly what we paid for, and we paid even more than expected $5350 (instead of $3834)...
We are very disappointed about the service.
EDIT : I can't find a button answer so I edit to answer IVL message. You say "The issue that caused the delay was based on the balance of an unpaid invoice".
I have the proof that we paid everything the day you sent the invoice. On the invoice received on June 18th, you said "need to be paid on receipt of receiving it, before June 20th" and we paid on June 18th !
Response from International Van LinesSep 8, 2025
Hi, I am sorry you were not happy with your experience. It's always our intention to provide our customers with quality service. It appears there was some miscommunication since we always provide estimated time frames. The issue that caused the delay was based on the balance of an unpaid invoice. It's our policy that we cannot release anything from the port until the balance is paid in full. That's standard practice for all international moving companies. I will be happy to reach out to you so we can discuss the chain of events that took place and see how we can help rectify the situation. Thank you

Would not recommend International Van Lines
My experience with the moving company International Van Lines.
Would not recommend.
The movers came to pick up my stuff at 4 PM. They had already done two jobs that day. They were tired and in a hurry. Same exact experience when they came to drop my stuff off at my new place. They lost some of my stuff. They damaged almost all of my furniture.
International Van Lines is clearly one of those companies that hires as few workers to do as much work as possible. That leads to shitty service because the workers are always tired and in a hurry.
Ultimately, I wish I had just sold my furniture and started over at my new place rather than pay for such a shitty service from International Van Lines. I feel like if you're moving and you have furniture that is so nice you really want to transfer it with you, you probably have enough money to hire a better service than International Van Lines.
