This Company Doesn't Care or Take Accountability For Your Precious Items
I hired these folks last year and items were packed up to be shipped on 10/31/2022 from NYC to Dominican Republic. I waited a little over a year to write a review because I have been dealing with the remnants of their misdealings since the beginning and wanted to give an accurate account of what transpired. At this time, I am currently working with their insurance company which I suggest everyone gets if working with this company. This company doesn't seem to care about the condition of packing of items. The Operations Manager lost 2 boxes. They didn't want to pick up the items they left behind and told us to drive all the way to Kearny, NJ to drop them off and then gave us the receipt and lost the items afterward without any apology or accountability. Boxes were mislabeled. For example, one box states "Monitor" but it was my subwoofer. Another stated "Printer" but it was desk supplies. I am still looking for things. I don't have all of my kitchen accessories. Boxes labeled clothing are actually from the linen closet and vice versa. My pictures and frames weren't wrapped appropriately, and most are damaged now. Including a sentimental hand-drawn illustration that took over a year to complete. It took more than 30 days to get email responses from the Operations Director and they poorly packed valuable and sentimental items. They boxed all the electrical cords to items in separate boxes that have nothing to do with the items packed with and it's been a struggle to put all the things back together. They also took apart a wooden desk that could have been shipped in one piece and didn't even try to save all the parts or pack up the wooden shelves which were destroyed (I have pics to share of all these items if anyone cares to see). I have so much more I could say but don't have the space for more than 4000 characters. I believe the company took advantage of me because I did not come from an affluent neighborhood and thought my items were less valuable. One mover was rude and ignored me when I was trying to give instructions/requests on my living room pieces and antique metal fireplace passed down from the 1970s. He mispacked most of the items which makes me think he did it on purpose because I requested to remove dust bunnies that he packed with my sofa. I didn't say anything on the first couch but took the opportunity on the 2nd couch because I just didn't want to bring old dirt to my new place. Once I asked him to do that his attitude changed and started to ignore me which was unacceptable. The company didn't say or do anything to reprimand him for his behavior once I explained what happened. I had 3-4 different project managers and the last one was the most thorough but it was too late because my stuff had been shipped at the time. I was told I had to reach out to their internal team directly to make arrangements or ask questions when it should be their Project Managers' responsibility. The Sales Rep was nice until he got my business then wasn't helpful at all and was rude and distant. The original PM (#1) disappeared for weeks and then I had a new PM (#2) who didn't last long. She was on the account for approx a few weeks before leaving the company. She tried to help but seemed overwhelmed and told me I also needed to follow up with folks like the Ops Director directly on things when it should have been her responsibility as the PM. The Ops Director never responded to my emails on time. Some emails took 30 days (I have the proof if anyone wants to see) which caused delays and additional costs due to items not being delivered on time causing int'l tax increases to hit my shipment. Project Manager #3 took over my account after everything was shipped at sea and tried to remedy issues the best she could but it was too late. She could mostly only help with communication among internal depts. The people in the Dominican Republic who received my items were the best part of the ISAS because they were most thorough and empathetic with the issues I've encountered. They could tell things were not done correctly by ISAS and I was not given the service I deserved. Overall, this company took no accountability and did a poor job of showing any remorse or wanting to rectify the issues they caused with packing. I guess it's because (possibly) I didn't look like their other customers and didn't come from an affluent neighborhood even though I tipped the movers very well and gave them furniture and electronics (i.e. dining room/kitchen chairs, and speakers) they asked for when they realized I wasn't taking them. The service received was subpar and I didn't feel valued as a customer even though I paid on time and did everything asked of me when requested. I felt ignored and strung along. This is not how customers are to be treated by an alleged first-class company.

Dear Darin,
We apologize for any dissatisfaction you experienced during the moving process and are very regretful to hear this feedback. We aim to provide reliable and professional services to all our customers and never wish to make any client feel otherwise.
Unfortunately, some of these facts are misrepresented. You claim we "lost" 2 boxes and didn't want to pick them up from your home. Please note our foreman conducted a thorough walk-through and the signed paperwork indicates nothing was left behind. After our crew left your home, you brought to our attention 2 items still needed to be added to the shipment and therefore we gave the option of dropping them off at our warehouse.
Once you brought to our attention the negative experience with our foreman and concern regarding communications, we addressed your concerns and as a gesture of goodwill gave you a discount of $575.00.
Please note unfortunately, it is not uncommon for stickers to fall off during transit as the shipment endures a long trip. Items from different rooms/categories are consolidated to mitigate empty or "dead" space and using an unnecessary amount of packaging, which can increase the total volume and potentially risk an overflow.
If you would like to discuss anything further, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Service above and beyond
My husband and I have recently moved from upstate NY to Girona, Spain. To help us fell less homesick and give us a sense of the familiar, we decided to take our ENTIRE household - 40 years of "stuff" - with us.
All our previous moves had been local ones and we were able to transport most of our things piece by piece in our car, relying on outside movers for only the largest items. This move was a different kettle of fish, and one which we could not attempt on our own. We chanced upon International Sea & Air through an internet search and they were/are a godsend.
Niki, our first contact, was extraordinarily pleasant and informative and she allayed our fears and reassured us that International Sea & Air would take care of EVERYTHING. They have done so.
Jeanine, our coordinator, has answered our every question and double-checked that our paperwork is complete and in order.
The movers - kudos to Ronald the crew manager - were friendly, polite, clean and most importantly, meticulous in wrapping, boxing, and moving our cherished possessions. Ours was a large job which included not only packing all our furniture, household goods and clothing, but also a baby-grand piano, four cars, a motorcycle and a tractor! This was all accomplished seamlessly and without incident, just as promised and we are delighted.
But we are even more delighted by Sea & Air's response to an unexpected incident which occurred at the end of the move. My husband discovered that a necklace very precious to him, was missing. We had decided to carry our jewelry with us on the plane, wrapped the pieces and placed them in our hand luggage. The necklace was one of those pieces. Our assumption was that the necklace had been mistakenly included with the other household items and was now boxed for shipment. We spoke to Ronnie Cohen, Operations Manager, and he diligently searched through boxes (every box is numbered and its contents labeled) and our cars, to find the necklace and arrange its return to us. To say we are grateful for Ronnie's diligence is an understatement. We are thrilled!
Our things won't be delivered for several weeks, but I have NO DOUBT that the excellent service we have received so far from International Sea & Air will continue here in Spain. Many thanks to all!

Florida to France - learned a lot
We moved from Florida to the French Alps in 2022. I’ve waited awhile to write a review, because I wanted to be fair and say the right thing.
International Sea & Air is an excellent, budget-friendly option for a full-service, whole-household, overseas move. If we had it to do over again, we would use them again, because every other option was a lot more expensive, and ultimately, they got the job done.
They communicated well, they did what they said they would do, and they seemed to care about our move going smoothly. They did a great job coordinating with the moving team in France. Our stuff got through customs without incident. We moved from a rural, coastal area in Florida to a rural, mountainous area in France, and the logistics of getting a truck into each location were complicated. They handled all that really well.
However - if we had it to do over again, we would do the following:
1. Insure everything we own that is expensive to replace. What we did was insure expensive items that we thought might get damaged in the move. It didn’t occur to us that items might get lost or stolen. This was naive.
The reality is that International Sea & Air sub-contracts many aspects of the move. At least 4 different teams of movers handled our stuff during our move, and they get paid whether our stuff arrives or not. For an overseas move using a shipping container, a lot of the handling happens without our oversight or monitoring. We watch our stuff get loaded and unloaded, but we don’t see all the moving around and transferring that happens in between.
We lost several expensive items during our move. The ones we insured, we were able to replace, and in one case, one lost item we insured was recovered and re-shipped to us by International Sea & Air (very conscientious of them).
The items we did not insure were just gone.
2. Pack everything in boxes ourselves. This is something we did for most of our stuff, but we didn’t have time to finish. When the loading crew arrived, they were supposed to pack our items, but truly - their idea of “packing” was to stack our dinner plates in a box, with no bubble wrap or anything, and close the box. They assured us “it’ll be packed better at the warehouse.” Yeah, right. Save yourself the heartache and pack your own boxes well, especially for overseas. They will still charge you for packing (they will not remove the charge - we asked), but it’s not a ton of money, and it’s not worth the stress and potential damage to let them do it. Anything we didn’t pack ended up damaged or broken.
3. If you want to prevent expensive items from being stolen (or “lost”, but let’s be real - nothing cheap or basic of ours got “lost”), pack them in a way that disguises what they are. My wife’s very nice fishing rods didn’t make it to France because we didn’t do this, even though other items (life jackets, paddles, a net) packed with the fishing rods did arrive. Also, a box of expensive men’s cologne was stolen because we used a clear plastic bin to pack it, and you could see the brands through the box. Other boxes of perfume that were packed in plain brown boxes with nondescript titles like “toiletries” arrived just fine. Boxes of inexpensive perfume packed in plastic bins also arrived just fine.
In sum, International Sea & Air did a good job with a complicated move, and we would use them again - but definitely keep in mind the 3 things above for the best experience.
