FALSE ADVERTISING. BUYER BEWARE. HIDDEN FEES SCAM. Front page fraudulently says 100% Free Federal and State. Once you hand over all of your confidential information and give them permission to electronically transfer your income information, they start hitting you with MULTIPLE hidden fees of $40 EACH that are definitely not spelled out in bold print on the landing page like their false claim of "100% Free". By the time all was said and done, they were expecting $120 plus sales tax (even though this is a service and not goods, but I digress). Breakdown: 1) $40 because I had to use Schedule 1 -- a very simple form used for a few different things, my case being unemployment benefits (that's right, expect no mercy, those of you who are or were unemployed in 2018). 2) ANOTHER $40 for my State, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE FRONT PAGE OF TURBOTAX.COM SAYS 100% FREE FOR FEDERAL AND STATE. 3) And then they wanted yet ANOTHER $40 as a "fee" for the option of having the cost deducted out of my tax return. $40??!! Per tax return! Can you imagine what they're raking in? And while they've assured you pages before, "Hey, pal, don't worry, you can pay for this out of your tax return," they don't drop the $40 bomb on you until all is said and done and you have wasted your valuable time and you have given them your confidential information, all which they will keep even if you change your mind and do your taxes elsewhere. I absolutely do not and cannot recommend these shysters who should be held accountable by the FTC for at the very least false advertising. BOTTOM LINE, TurboTax is nothing more than CON ARTISTS and DATA COLLECTORS. STAY AWAY.

Loved it!!! Thought was sooo simple after all these years that was overpaying a person to do them! Wow was the simplest of all math and terms in the app very understood!! I will always use this!

It’s time to file your taxes, and guess what? I’ve used turbo tax for many years until their terrible customer service. I didn’t think the customer service would be so terrible. Unlike most people that want “freebies” I paid the entire deluxe package. There was an issue with my taxes and it took several phone calls outside TurboTax to get it addressed. Turbo tax mentioned to me they are only the services. I felt very let down as to who to call after that. It’s better to get your taxes done by a professional. Don’t waste your hard earned money with them. They are corporate liars and I’ve had a lot of experience with PROFESSIONAL LIARS!!

Had big issues in 2019. Nothing was free. They keep selling me more stuff and I could not tell why. Called 800 number and gave up after waiting a long time and then getting someone who did not want to help. Try another service that is not so expensive and actually cares. They advertise one thing and then give you another. Bad form.

They did NOT answer my call after a long wait and then hung up on me. Tried to email them with my question and no reply. I SWITCHED TO TAXSLAYER. They care about customers and are friendly there. These guys seem big corporate stuff.

I have been using Turbotax for many years. I have an advantage account that obtains payment from my bank account in November of every year, which is supposed to allow easy download of the tax software program when needed. I've been unable to unlock the download and customer service hasn't been able to solve the problem. I've been told my account is "on hold" despite payment from my checking account clearly indicated when I sign on and is reflected in my bank account. The credit department is not open over the weekend, which is absurd considering this is tax season. Customer service has become difficult to access efficiently. I called yesterday and automated services indicated there was a 20 minute wait so I should provide my phone number and I would be called back. I was called back but placed on hold w/o a representative informing me what was happening. No one came on the line after 20 minutes so I found another way to reach them which provided a code. Finally reached a live person who said she would get me the download, placed me on hold, and didn't come back for 30 minutes! Then she said I had a "hold" on my account and they were closing so I'd have to call back tomorrow. I called today and was initially told the previous representative said I have a hold because I was in "incollectible status" whatever that means. Mind you, the funds have already been withdrawn from my bank account last November. There's no way to solve this issue until tomorrow I was told. So an "advantage" account is clearly no advantage at all. In fact, it's an impediment to accessing the programs.

Easy to use and offers a way to keep your records easily accessible. I have been using TT for years and have never had an issue with their product as it walks me thru all of my deduction options.
