finance tabs are going away
The interface is good, though they are taking away the finance section which I use most. I'm not sure that it's worth the $500 annual dues.

I used to rate this 10/10. Now there’s no way I can do that. I have a constant list of bugs with this program and I have to wait until you ask for reviews to write them all down. The AI generated never is good and it always makes me physically select all and delete on my phone, or removes the email I’m replying to on desktop. The features you’re changing aren’t necessary like the AI, or the menu being moved which is still driving me crazy, but things that would actually help are slow. It’s impossible to get in contact with support about bugs or things that should change. All of these things and more that I haven’t even listed from my Honeybook bug list do NOT warrant the significant price increase and ultimately so many vendors I know including myself are talking about moving to Dubsado because they are still at least reasonable with their increases and current cost.

Its' expensive, with constant changes being made to "improve" the experience, but they don't - none of the changes - especially the "smart files" have been helpful or time-saving. And it takes entirely too long to get our money - unless of course, we want to pay an extra fee - but you can't even do that unless you switch from legacy to smart files, which are more frustrating. Smart files take more time to manage, and I cannot stand having to do billing and contracts anymore. As a small business, I have so little time to do this, let alone, have to figure out the continual changes that are being made, and then wait 5 days for our money to be deposited. (With Square you get your money in 1 to 2 days.) The only reason I still use it is because I have not had the time to research and find another way. I feel trapped in this system that has not made my life easier at all.

I’m Obsessed with honeybook. This is the best company, best system and easiest platform I could ever use.

This review is a bit late as it happened in 2022, but I feel it's necessary to warn those out there. I genuinely loved everything about the interface with Honeybook, especially for a small business. My issue arises with their claims department. I had a client that went through a medical issue and decided the easiest way to get money was to file a claim on a job that had already been approved via email, final payment made and was currently using site live on their URL for several months at the time of this claim. I went back an forth witht the agent with all my screen shots, saved emails where client approved job, paid for job and then showed the agent (in live time) the LIVE website up and working several months after contract ended. Contract even stated, absolutely no refunds under any circumstances that client agreed to. Literally an open and shut case for me. I crossed my T's and dotted my I's and made sure I had all the evidence anyone would ever want. Long story short they ruled in clients favor, took money out of my business account and client continued to use website I apparently built for free. Be very careful as Honeybook will NOT go to bat for you, the small business and it could potentially be devastating to a small business. I was so angry at the lack of protection they offered especially since I had everything in black and white and all the proof you could ever want and the fact they just withdrew the money out of my account that I immediately terminated my service and went to quickbooks. Be careful and be warned, even if you have a rock solid contract, Honeybook may very well back the client and not you.

I've been a customer for 5 years! The company is always adding new features and increasing monthly rates to the current customers. Last enormous increase, 2024, the company gave a 20% monthly discount however.... if you are late on 1 payment by a few days, they'd increase you to the new fee. In 2025, the company has increased their fees by almost double! I've been a customer for years paying the premium package and missed that one payment due to health issues so I was working my event business part-time for 3 months. I was using the app (which does not indicate the missing payment issue) so I didn't know. All the late payment notifications went to my alternate email which I did see 1 message, but I was really sick and forgot about the email relating to the payment. Once I realized through my alternate email of the missing payment, I message customer support and explained the situation and asked to reinstate my discount. Honeybook customer service basically said, "Too bad that's the cost now, because you were late on ONE payment" So my rate went from $79/mon to $125/mon. No second chance for a long term client, nothing. No empathy or understanding for my health issue. Dislike #2: In order to receive payments through their system, you have to provide your SSN or SIN and ID. However on their privacy/security policy Honeybook is not liable for any hacking to their system and stealing your private information to be used online and sold. When Honeybook began, they were assisting free lancers and being in it for the small guys, but it's obvious they've moved to a corporate greed mentality. .. and what Honeybook seems to forget that there are tons of other software options and new ones being introduced, so no one REALLY needs HONEYBOOK. Like: The usage of the platform and client automations. But it doesn't matter if the customer service is not there - the privacy and security is not there. I'm actively searching for an alternative solution.
