We all really get along and we're having fun playing games and helping each other with our depression and other life events.

We provide weekly group mental health support sessions inside of video games to address issues of depression, anxiety, addiction, identity, trauma, neurodivergence, stress, gender/sexuality, relationships, loneliness, etc. Small groups of 5 gamers pseudonymously meet weekly for 80 mins, led by trained facilitators (PsyD, LMFT, LCSW, and LMHC clinicians) with expertise in evidence-based group psychotherapy.

Hero Journey Club has been truly a great experience for me, and I certainly recommend it to you. Don't be discouraged by feeling uncomfortable in the first few sessions; you get used to it. There's nothing magical going on here. It's just a great, affordable online group therapy service that ties games in as well! Once you get settled with your group, you'll have a great time.

My group is great! We have a lot of fun chatting and playing games. I feel like we have a good connection and mix of people in our group. I love taking some time to relax and unwind while gaming.

My session members are amazing, as well as the leader. I always feel so comfortable talking in this space and it’s a nice thing to look forward to weekly!

Each week is a pretty chill and welcoming session. I really feel heard when I need to talk about certain issues and get some good feedback.

The people here are amazing. They're so kind, understanding, and helpful No matter what's happening. Maybe it's just been a boring week and everyone's just willing to chat about nothing. Or maybe it's been a really really hard day and everyone is just so supportive! I love this so much and I love tuning in no matter where I am or what's happening!

My journey guide is really amazing and I'm glad that I've been able to grow from this. The tools that everyone shares and I share help us all grow, and I'm glad that it's allowed us to get a deeper bond. I'd love for everyone to sit in and hear what we say. The conversations we have are really helpful, we transform the harsh and negative tones into something peaceful and positive. It's good to have an outside look and rework how you feel. It gives me peace of mind when I go into group and actually hear that I've been getting better. HJC is truly amazing.

The moderator came off as pretentious using the neo pronouns It/It's self. It made me question the professionalism and mental stability of the facilitator. It has a nice premise but I noticed a definite ideological bent which made me uncomfortable. The propagation of "Safe spaces" is antithetical to growth as it is often the places we want to look at least which will facilitate growth and healing (however painful it may be). The environment seems to be constructed in a way that dissuades healing and prolongs commiseration.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We value all opinions as they help us improve our service. We allow Journeyers and Journey Guides to identify in any way they choose, including pronouns. We do want to emphasize that each Journey Guide has their own approach and all have merit, but recognize that different approaches don't work for everyone. We have Journey Guides that work in the way you're requesting here. We would be happy to work with you to find a better match. Getting the right fit with a process and group that works best for you is so important and that is why rematching is a benefit of our offering.
