The company itself is great but my issue is with the inability to leave reviews on clinicians and or providers. I was working with a therapist through headway for a while and it was the most traumatic, unethical and degrading experience I’ve ever had. You’re allowing a therapist to operate through your site who has more than breached the guidelines and ethics of mental health providers. I find it off putting that I cannot leave a review protecting other vulnerable clients from falling under the unsafe care of her.

Headway isn’t replying to my question I put in their contact form or emails regarding being overcharged. They don’t have a phone line or chat support for clients to reach out to. How am I supposed to get help 🤡 Edit: headway replied to this review telling me to contact them via their form. I don’t think they actually read my review because the problem is that they don’t reply to any query made to them via the form lmao

Two stars because Headway does make it easier to find therapists licensed in your state and schedule appointments. This service might be financially advantageous for providers because Headway seems to have negotiated a higher reimbursement rate for therapists than they are able to bill privately (or perhaps not, since Headway might just be taking a huge cut and underpaying providers). And, yes, companies and individual providers CAN negotiate higher reimbursement rates, no matter what Headway’s response to this review is. That said, it sucks for the client. I pay twice what I was paying a former therapist through the same insurance and billing the same CPT code with the same license level in the same state. It’s also unacceptable that the relationship between the therapists and Headway isn’t transparent as it causes unnecessary confusion (for example, some therapists only use Headway for billing but not for scheduling or messaging/client communications, others use it more robustly as their administrator and their telehealth portal, etc). The worst thing about Headway is there is NO direct contact number for a human being (not for clients or providers). If you have an issue, you have to contact support electronically and await an invariably incorrect response which further delays resolution because of the electronic back and forth (whereas a simple phone call would save an enormous amount of time). Further, it’s *really* unacceptable and UNETHICAL that you can’t book an appointment without a credit card on file even if you have no coinsurance/100% coverage/deductible is met. In NO other healthcare setting are you required to have a credit card on file once you’ve provided your insurance info.

Not only a bad customer service experience but bad interview/job experiences as well. Potential clients and therapists beware!

The therapist needed a therapist... There were only about 2 therapists available to me-in network for my insurance. I chose one of them. I had a few sessions with her and she told me so much about her life during the sessions I started to question who was getting treatment at the sessions. Whenever I would share something she would bring the topic of conversation back to her and her own trauma. It seemed very much like she wanted to be friends and she provided no clear insight or support for issues I wanted to discuss. Also in the fine print at the bottom of the appointment reminder email it says that amount quoted is estimated for a 1 hour session. This therapist constantly pushed our appointments beyond 1 hour talking about herself. I would remind her of the time and she would keep talking. I think she may have done this in order to be paid more for the session which is terribly unethical. Beware. Unfortunately I would not recommend this provider because of this experience.

Hello Everyone, I'd like to share some experience with the first impression (and last) I currently use Brilliant and Luminosity I saw the Nibble Headway app sponsored on Instagram and thought to try it out for a month (I'm on Android BTW) I joined using my email and picked a ONE month plan I clicked yes to the Podcast /Audio book add on expecting to get prices on the next page I end up being charged (through Google pay) - 1 MONTH (which is what I wanted 10 USD - Audio/Pod (didn't want) 20USD -somethibg else for 9USD was expecting to give it a one month trial for 10USD ENDED UP BEING CHARGED 40USD Customer service says no refund according to policies

I've been seeing a therapist through Headway for 9 months now. They continuously overcharge me. At first, they charged me instead of my health insurance ($125 vs. $14 co-pay). Then they corrected it. Then they messed up their accounting and charged me again. Then they corrected it. Then they messed up and started charging me the full $125 again! Do not trust this company. It looks like they are double charging both me and my health insurance.
