Worst experience of my life. My ex partner and I tried it twice and he was alone with her for 10 mins and had her convinced it was all me. Nothing about his abuse emotional or mental or his pathological lying and cheating. She told me I needed to do more. I have CKD working a full time job and full time school and driving about 3-4 hours a day. 2 back and forth to work and home visits. I work in the field also. He gloated after the session. I made another one to give the lady or young woman another chance and I was on bedrest. My partner was awake but didn’t wake me up for the session. The counselor said I will charge you $75 for missing the appointment. She charged me not him $106 dollars for an appointment he didn’t wake me up for!! I wanted someone to be honest and ask why would you stay with someone who had cheated and lied to you? Instead I was put down made to feel like I wasn’t doing enough while he played video games daily worked 7.5 hours I gave him a ride back and forth to work at 11 pm at night when I had to be up by 6:30. He was awful to me and just because someone doesn’t speak infront of a counselor doesn’t mean they don’t when the counselor isn’t around.

I am a mental health therapist and had a thriving practice until Headway. I utilize Headway for billing and insurance credentialing. I have been with Headway for over a year. I am an LCSW and pride myself in building trust with my clients. Over the past year, Headway has caused my clients and myself an incredible amount of stress. First, Headway told my clients that they were "covered by their insurance" and had "little to no copay." My clients and myself believed Headway that their insurance covered their sessions. Headway did their "verification process." My clients would not have proceeded with weekly or biweekly sessions if they had known the sessions were not covered. Out of nowhere, my clients started receiving surprise bills for enormous amounts of money (months of sessions at approximately $150 a session were billed). My clients pleaded with me to help and I desperately contacted Headway regularly. They did nothing and there is no phone number to reach them. Meanwhile, more and more of my clients started receiving surprise bills and Headway would just send me automated emails saying there was a mistake and my clients will have to pay. They also state in the emails, "sorry, we know this is a headache." Then, in late April 2023 Headway tells me THEY (Headway) made an "error" and my BCBS clients are not covered and I will have to "end therapy" with these clients or they will pay out of pocket. I was informed without any explanation that I will no longer be able to see Blue Cross Blue Shield clients or take new clients with this insurance because of "their error." I tried many times to get answers. They ignored my emails or sent an automated response. To this day I do now know what the error is. They cause more mental health issues for clients and therapists.

Please avoid this headway insurance they don't give no claims bonus any incident even not your fault they will charge you they are scamers horrible company be aware of headway insurance

This company is a JOKE. My provider was amazing but I decided to stop seeing her when I realized headways billing process. They make you pay up front essentially and guess what your insurance will pay based off your benefits. That’s what I was told. In my case I have a $25 copay and 20% coinsurance so was quoted $72. They ended up charged my credit card $238 and this was after I had provided my EOB multiple times showing my actual amount owed was $67. There is no phone number and you literally have to harass them to get a reply. The use “super bills” which is a joke. Stay away. Use anything but this.

As a provider, we have found HW to be extremely mismanaged. The leadership appears to have no idea how to properly manage CPT codes, billing, and other aspects of clinical services. We have sought informal resolution of many issues with their platform, billing practices and lack of understanding of clinical billing. We get minimal responsiveness and have had no luck addressing thousands of dollars worth of claims. Their platform does not work and they have extremely poor provider support. Experience is ongoing and we are working to transition away from them.

My therapist is amazing but Headway.co is a terrible company with bad practices and I do not recommend them. They cancelled my appointment over a missed email and over information I had already sent them previously. They are billing me way more money than they should be, totally trying to run up my insurance. They lied and said my appointments were covered but several months later into the year they came back and said no, actually my appointments cost almost $150 a session, which is more than the cash price would be! Don't tell me my appointments are covered and then turn around and say no nevermind they aren't after I've had weekly sessions since the start of the year. You also can't contact them easily at all. Avoid this company at all costs.

First therapist here never called for the first appointment. Second therapist straight up rejected meeting claiming my disorders were more than she could handle. Third therapist rejected for the same reason. If you have an actual mental disorder this service will not help you. I think this is for rich people who need to complain about seeing a poor person, not for actual mental health.

If I could give Headway 0 stars, I would. The absolute absymal quaity of their service is making mental health WORSE, not better. I have attempted to meet with not one, but two therapists and have met neither. First, I schedule with a therapist who, 1.5 hours before my appointment, decides to just change the time without saying ANYTHING to me about it or to ask if the new time worked. It was during my work time, so I couldn't make the appointment. I reached out to the provider multiple times and contacted customer support. It wasn't until customer support got involved that the therapist finally messaged me back about why she needed to cancel. Had that been simply said up front, I wouldn't have sought out another therapist. Disappointed with this first impression, I decided to use the site again to find a new therapist. This time the appointment wasn't changed, but the provider never sent me a link, never responded to my messages asking for the link, and simply ghosted me. You know what's not super helpful for a mentally ill person seeking support? Getting totally abandoned by those you're PAYING to work with. I've only successfully met with one provider on this site, and she's a psychiatrist who constantly changes my appointment time last minute or shows up 10 minutes late. I feel like a total fool for using this website, given that there are plenty of other online, affordable therapy websites. I have no interest in continuing to try with a company that isn't holding their providers accountable for their lack of professionalism, and providers who prove with their actions they have no interest in my mental health.
