Headway is a mixed bag
Headway is a mixed bag. It is nice to have the insurance reimbursement claw-back protection and to be able to panel with several insurance companies without much effort. On the other hand, the reimbursement rates aren't as high as with self-credentialing. Headway also has some elements that are annoying - like requiring EXTENSIVE notes, pressuring you to close notes within 2 days, and pushing you to send clients assessments before every session. Also, lately, I've had frequent issues with logging into my account, related to the 2-factor authentication.

Hi Autumn, Thank you for the thoughtful, balanced feedback, and for being part of the Headway community these past couple of years. We're glad the claims protection and multi-payer credentialing have been working well for you. I also want to acknowledge the friction points you called out. Documentation requirements, note-closure timing, and pre-session assessments are intentional parts of how we support compliant, high-quality care, but feedback like yours is exactly what we use to look for ways to make those steps lighter for providers — I'll be passing this along to our product team. I also saw you'd been dealing with a two-factor authentication issue that was blocking your portal access. I'm glad our support team was able to get that resolved, and I'm sorry for the disruption while it was ongoing — we're looking into what caused it so it doesn't recur. If reimbursement rates on any specific payer are a continued concern, we're happy to talk through your options directly. Thanks again for taking the time to share this. – Adam
