Great service; quick shipment and delivery.

I have dropped off my car on Jul 9th, and havent received yet. It has been passed a months. Have a very tough time to track the vehicle, no single proactive communication under delayed situation until I actively pursue for the updates desperately and its being delayed over and over again. Really frustrated. Due to unreliable estimation and scheduling in service, I cannot trust any more what company says since it never happened as it replied and I am on the verge of cancelling my trip out of town over the past week and again this week on this waiting game. Customer’s time is not valued at all in the name of all excuses. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and truly regret the frustration this delay has caused. Your vehicle shipment consists of two legs, the first over the ocean from Hawaii to California, and the second on the road from California to Texas. While we understand how frustrating it has been to receive changing information, our team has been in touch with you multiple times and each time we have provided the most current updates available. Unfortunately, there are sometimes factors out of our control such as storms and rough seas which can create a safety issue for ocean crews. This and delays at the port can sometimes cause delivery estimates to shift. We do have a carrier assigned for the road transportation portion and delivery is currently estimated to be this week. We sincerely apologize for the extended wait and any inconvenience this has caused.

This is a bit of a read so I thought Id make it funny. Im also documenting these reviews and when you flag them. I will keep posting them when you have them removed. At the time of writing this I have written a review, but they are flagging them to get removed as I'm not a real customer... We were given an estimated arrival date around Jul 11th and a ship out date of late June. Car made it to the port on time. Communication was good. Lana (I don't mean to misspell your name) was great. Car left late but whatever, stuff happens. Didn't even call to complain. Life happens. After like a week and a half I get a call from Lana that my keys were locked in my car and that I had to either mail them a set of keys or somehow figure out how to get a locksmith down there. My car is equipped with an auto unlock if the keys are left in the car so this cannot happen. I called her back and guess what. Her car has the same feature so dont worry, Lana is gonna get this resolved. Fast forward like 3 days and I get a call from Lana saying "oh the locksmith said the security system aka "my keys" were modified. Plot twist, they were in fact dealership replacement keys that are direct OEM replacements that had 0 issues. Key fobs were both replaced 6 months ago when the keys were made. So now they have had my car sitting on a port waiting for a locksmith and guess who gets the bill? This guy! So after a very fun conversation with Lana about how this is possible and that we were in sync about this, I got stuck paying a almost 200$ locksmith bill. Minor setback but she said that if I pay right now she will have it on a truck that day. We payed it on the 16th of July (the same day). Fast forward to today (Jul 24th) and guess what: I get a call from some random dude that supposedly my car is gonna get picked up on Monday but I have to pay some other "storage fee" because Lana is so good at her job, my car sat for an entire week for no reason and has accrued some bill. So I call the company up and for anyone who stuck around this long knows I get stuck with another bill for several hundred dollars. At this point just calling them costs 100$. So areas of improvement for Hawaii Car Transport: 1) If you dont allow us to call the port ourselves, dont fold when you already know what they are claiming is not physically possible. 2) If you then fold and charge your customer because you dont wanna argue with the port dont lie and say its going on a truck that day 3) Why do you require us to put our cc info on a piece of paper and email it back to you? If you need help setting up Stripe or CC payments I am happy to help. 4) When there is a serious delay ( a week or more) please reach out with literally anything. Like what is the point in using you guys? What value have I gotten? It would have been easier to just organize shipping myself. And if I wanted it almost a week late and 350$ extra I could have just forgot about it in a port myself. Now in their response they are going to claim that "Trustpilot reviews cannot be deleted" A: Yes they can. A premium plan allows you access to a personal attendant who can still request info in regards to your review. If you don't provide it fast enough it is deleted. "Your modified security system violates our ToS" A: OEM key replacements installed by a Dealership are not modified. " Your cars delivery date was available at the port by July 11th. We never said it would be at your new house on July 11th" A: Yes, I agree. It is now July 29th and Im accruing fees because you left it in the port Lana. "You were rude to us when we attempted to tell you that you now owe us 250$" A: No I wasnt. I was just asking how you operate as a company that cant tell the port to knock the shenanigans off. Either way, I would rather wrap my car around a tree and drop it in the ocean and hope it somehow makes it to Hawaii then let Lana mess this up ever again. Hawaii Car Transportation doesn't care. EDIT: After the review went live, I got several emails. They offered to cover the cost of storage. In response to your response, I will be emailing you a video of how what the port is claiming is impossible. I followed up and said that the keys do work and that the only part that I am not satisfied with is that you told me it would be handled (by Lana). When the port changed its story, you decided that "oh just bill him I guess" instead of telling the port to knock it off. I will be sending you a post action email and submitting a claim to the port anyways, but this reply doesnt even cover the issue Im covering in this review. Edit: 7/23/2026: OEM (modified keys) still have no issue. No battery low warning. Been driving the car no issue! :D

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We understand your frustration and appreciate the time you took to share your experience. While we regret that this process has been challenging, we do want to clarify a few important points regarding your vehicle and how the situation was handled. The port hired a trusted locksmith to assist with accessing your vehicle. According to their report, the vehicle had aftermarket key fobs. The dashboard displayed a low battery warning, and the locksmith noted that while the keys could open the trunk and start the car, they did not unlock the doors. He stated that the issue was likely due to a low battery, poor key quality, and possible programming errors. As a result, once the doors were closed, they automatically locked and could not be reopened without professional help. We understand that your vehicle may typically unlock when the keys are inside. However, that function is dependent on the key fob working properly. In this case, due to the fob's limitations, the automatic unlock feature did not engage, which caused the delay at the port. Regarding the storage fees, we will be covering those costs directly. Once the locksmith service was completed and payment was received, your vehicle was scheduled for pickup on the next available truck. There was no intentional delay, and we remained in contact as updates became available. We regret that your experience did not reflect the level of service we strive to provide. We truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
