Perspective
With telehealth, I had this option to work with someone who is a long distance away; nice to be collaborating with a seasoned therapist. It's been good from the get-go, feels good to release a lot of stress and get perspective.

Grow is a mental health platform built to enable progress — connecting people with thousands of qualified therapists vetted across specialties, identities, and lived experiences, covered by insurance. We didn't begin with a theory about the market. We began with someone trying to help someone they loved, with the realization that when someone you care about needs mental health support, the system can feel cold, confusing, expensive, and built to wear people down. So we built something better to help people find care they can afford, stay with, and actually feel supported by — care that doesn't just work, but makes progress possible. We are not only for crisis. We are for all the moments when someone decides they want more: more support, more clarity, more tools. Because our goal isn't just to help people feel better — it's to help people achieve their goals in life. That starts with finding the right therapist, which is why we make it easy to search by specialty, language, cultural background, and identity, with care covered by insurance, appointments available in as little as 2 days, and most clients paying around $21 per session. Many pay $0, and self-pay and sliding scale options are also available. We are committed to a mental health experience that's easier to begin, more affordable to maintain, and grounded in trust — rethinking not just how people access care, but how care feels, because life doesn't pause between sessions, and with Grow, support doesn't either. So far, 15 million sessions have started on Grow, each one a step forward for someone, somewhere, building the life they've always wanted. With 220M lives covered, appointments offered virtually or in-person, including evenings and weekends, and clear cost estimates with no subscriptions to worry about, it's no surprise that 80%+ of Grow clients report feeling better after starting therapy. Try Grow! I’ve tried other online platform and this one really has individuals they stand behind their credentials and are passionate about this work.

My first therapy session was a completely negative experience. During my initial appointment she cancelled LAST minute without messaging me letting me know why so I had to reschedule, then when I finally was able to meet with her via video chat all she did was ask a bunch of questions and my appointment was cut nearly in HALF. She claimed that she would began giving me “tips” and “advice” during our next appointment in which she scheduled for the following week, then 1 hour later CANCELLED and sent me a list of other therapist recommendations that specialize in an issue that I told her I was having in the past, but that was no longer relevant to my life. She also didn’t even let me know why she cancelled after just scheduling me, I felt completely scammed & played! I tried to get a refund through growtherapy.com but when they reached out to her she DECLINED it & still charged me for that session. Growtherapy claims that they have no control over disputing charges and/or refunds and I wish that they did since it is their platform! My 2nd therapist however, was very helpful and I had a very positive experience with her. I also like how growtherapy accepts insurance unlike some websites like betterhelp. *UPDATE: They finally refunded a few weeks later after doing a further investigation!

She is very relatable and is also very kind towards anything that you share with her. One of the most validating things she tells me after diving deeper into my past and my actions, is "your behavior makes sense with what you've experienced."
