Let’s Talk
Talking to my therapist hearing insight about ways to help in moving forward and personal relatable experiences shows me I’m not alone and how happy and bright she is makes me feel like there’s healing available

Grow is a mental health platform built to enable progress — connecting people with thousands of qualified therapists vetted across specialties, identities, and lived experiences, covered by insurance. We didn't begin with a theory about the market. We began with someone trying to help someone they loved, with the realization that when someone you care about needs mental health support, the system can feel cold, confusing, expensive, and built to wear people down. So we built something better to help people find care they can afford, stay with, and actually feel supported by — care that doesn't just work, but makes progress possible. We are not only for crisis. We are for all the moments when someone decides they want more: more support, more clarity, more tools. Because our goal isn't just to help people feel better — it's to help people achieve their goals in life. That starts with finding the right therapist, which is why we make it easy to search by specialty, language, cultural background, and identity, with care covered by insurance, appointments available in as little as 2 days, and most clients paying around $21 per session. Many pay $0, and self-pay and sliding scale options are also available. We are committed to a mental health experience that's easier to begin, more affordable to maintain, and grounded in trust — rethinking not just how people access care, but how care feels, because life doesn't pause between sessions, and with Grow, support doesn't either. So far, 15 million sessions have started on Grow, each one a step forward for someone, somewhere, building the life they've always wanted. With 220M lives covered, appointments offered virtually or in-person, including evenings and weekends, and clear cost estimates with no subscriptions to worry about, it's no surprise that 80%+ of Grow clients report feeling better after starting therapy. TWO STARS for the Providers, because they are honestly AMAZING. The therapists are the only reason I stayed with Grow Therapy. But Grow Therapy's customer support and billing system? 0/5. Getting consistent answers from staff: 0/5 Reaching someone by phone: 0/5 Adding secondary insurance: 0/5 Ending up with a surprise $600 bill: 0/5 The biggest issue is their billing process. They charge you the day after insurance processes, but they do not provide a clear, standard "payment due by" timeframe like almost every other medical provider. Insurance processing times vary, so payment dates constantly change and there is no consistency. One month you may have more time, another month you suddenly have 24 hours a few days after session, again, due to insurance timing. I was told payment dates could be adjusted, but that never actually happened. Then an emergency therapy session was canceled due to nonpayment despite prior communication regarding payment timing. To make things more frustrating, I have dual insurance and received completely different answers from different staff members about whether my secondary insurance was accepted. One representative said yes, another said no. Mental health care should not be treated like a luxury service where people are expected to scramble and come up with hundreds of dollars within 24 hours, especially in today's economy. For the average family, that simply isn't realistic. I've used similar virtual therapy platforms before and found them far easier to navigate. The only reason I've continued with Grow Therapy is because my provider is truly excellent. But I cannot continue paying $600 a month for myself and two children while carrying dual insurance coverage. Sadly, I will be looking elsewhere.

I had been struggling for years to find a great therapist through my Medicare. I had awful experiences with therapists who clearly were not more than ‘girlfriend with a phone’ kind of people. I needed experts in ADHD, CBT, solutions-based approaches, anxiety, childhood trauma. Out of desperation, I tried Talkiatry, picked my therapist and crossed my fingers. I found an amazing therapist right off the bat. I will continue with her practice because she’s smart, perceptive, skilled. I look forward to our sessions instead of dreading them as I did in the past. Talkiatry is so much better than my insurance company therapists! A great alternative to the ‘search’ engine finds who were wholly inadequate for my needs.

I can’t leave a review for this provider anywhere else so I’m doing it here. You can’t leave a review for therapists on the site until after the 4th visit, which I find to be skewed because of course if you’re visiting for a 4th time, you clearly like the therapist. This leaves no room for negative feedback and to warn upcoming clients of bad experiences. All this is to say that I experienced a racial microaggression during my intake session with Robyn Hawley. I would not recommend her at all. She was rather pushy about using the AI feature during our meeting, as well as scheduling weekly sessions when I was concerned about the cost. I felt brushed off, invalidated, and judged throughout our session.

The website was easy to navigate and I was able to "filter" my specifications, in addition to having a plethora of choices.

She takes her time and listens carefully to understand what you have to say. Then, she thoughtfully shares her advice and opinion, making you feel heard and valued.

My therapist is a good listener and also gives me different scenarios to think about. He's caring and supportive within his role. He offers me different insights to consider during our sessions.

The platform and how it's set up is dope, love the ease of use. However the providers are atrocious so far, it's WILD. Like what is this Kaiser?? I've never had therapists who bullied me in a first session or who were so aggressive. On Betterhelp even if I didn't vibe with a person it was like no harm no foul AND no charge with grow it's like charge (which fair) and really terrible outcomes both provider and helpdesk wise. I'm giving one last chance (fourth provider wish me luck) but besides a nice platform the staff on either end suck
