My parents found their puppy through Good Dog and they couldn't be happier with their experience. The breeder they found was great and Good Dog's customer support was helpful along the way. We love having our new puppy as part of the family!

put thousands of dollars of erroneous charges on my credit card
I like what gooddog is trying to do as a business, but my experience on their website was quite bad. I put out several applications to different breeders and received messages back from them, only to find that gooddog had charged me for every single deposit/full purchase cost on every application the next time I logged in. Thousands of dollars of purchases put onto my credit card without my knowledge or approval.

Good Dog is a puppy broker
I have lost all respect for this platform. Good Dog is officially a puppy broker program. They are forcing breeders to force families to use their payment system or not be able to list puppies. Breeders would rather a subscription based model so the breeders and buyers are in full control, but it's falling on deaf ears...great job Good dog...not good!

This website is legit
This website is legit. Yes like with everything you do have to make sure you do your work in asking the right questions of what is important to you when getting a puppy. Most of the negative comments here are from buyers that expect a free puppy. they buy complain and try to get a refund. Or from mad breeders that got kickedout and can't use good dog to sell their dogs. . Good dog does screen breeders is legit is real breeders some with a better set up than others but legit. I say good dog is improving and is the best site there is to help you buy a puppy.

Perfect experience!
We are so happy with our little Aussie baby girl from Lunaussies! Our experience with the breeder was excellent. Margarita provided us with loads of information and all the AKC registration paperwork as well as microchip registration. Our puppy came clean and groomed and even had an adorable little bow, which we are keeping in her memory box. We just had our puppy checked by the vet and she passed with flying colors! Everyone fell in love with her immediately. She is a happy, friendly cute bundle of joy! Thank you Margarita!!!

Fraudulant business practices. Does not Physically Verify Anything.
This website uses fraudulent businesses practices to convince you that the breeders have been vetted and are trustworthy. I recently bought a pschologically broken dog. I called Gooddog to report the breeder and request a refund. They told me that their entire "standards and evaluation process" is merely a questionare and is not physically verified for anyone. Needless to say I am stuck with a broken dog and the breeders are not being repremanded even though there is phsyical proof that all of their breeding dogs have the exact fearfull, submissive, peeing themselves for no reason issue that the dog they sold me has. They gave me hallow words and meaniningless promises. They told me that their "investigation" team would investigate the breeders and they never did. They literally did nothing. They didnt even bother to look at the security video that proved my case. I was told their "investigation team" doesnt even make in person/onsite visits and evaluations. Their entire vetting process is a paper tiger. They also expect you to buy insurance in addition to the dog eventhough the breeders have elegedily been vetted. Everything is writtent on the "Standards and Screening" page and non of it is true. This is false advertisment at its finest.

I'd say it was a great site--but I've not heard back from them in 6 months. Possible discrimination against other breeders in their breed?????
I'd say it was a great site--but I've been waiting for my listing to be "approved" by them for about 4-6 months. I've sent several emails and numerous phone calls to numerous customer service numbers. None will pick up. No one will return emails or calls. I more than exceeded their requirements. I know that. They know that. They have you fill out a form (which I passed with flying colors and answered absolutely truthful) BUT I've seen breeders on there who have bashed me in the show ring in the past and just wonder if discrimination is going on.
I messaged them: "Months ago I filled out a profile on your website. I can go to GoodDog and see my profile. I was able to list litters but it still shows its processing. (So I assume they are not listed?) I was wondering what the hold-up was???
I am in good standing with the AKC, am a Breeder of Merit, member of a local AKC dog club where my husband is the president, and I'm on the board. (Tioga county Kennel Club, Tioga Country, NY) if you need a reference.
My husband is also a delegate with the PA Federation of Dog Clubs who can also provide a reference as well as our local AKC regional representative we work with on our dog show. Also, our senator, Yaw who visits our kennel regularly, can write a letter of recommendation. He visits our kennel and also uses us for consultation on dog law and legislation. We have a great standing in our state and our breed and the AKC. My husband and I have owned our kennel and shown Labs for over 36 years.
My husband also works with the AKC on legislation, so there are people in that department that could give a reference as well. Also, our AKC dog handlers could do so: Kathryn Mines, Rusty Howard, or Karen Mammano. (Specifically Labrador Handlers)
Also, we can provide any info you may have forgotten?
I've been waiting months for approval, so I figured something may be wrong (?)" Our other AKC club members got approval in just days or weeks. Its been almost 6 months or more.
NOTE: All the members of our local AKC Tioga County Kennel Club have had their applications accepted in a timely fashion. They referred me to this company. Said they were GREAT. But then I saw people who were advertising the site and have seen some of them rip down other breeders online. They know I also come in line with all requirements for the parent AKC club. Some of the members of this site have actually gossipped and tried to strong-arm me out of the breed--I can file charges against them, specifically, once I know who the founding members are, who the board is, and who owns and runs the site and is responsible for discrimination (possibly!) against other competition in their breeds. I will report back once this is investigated. It's been 6 mos for me to get my listing to approve--other members in our AKC club, within a week or two. So I suspect some possible bad actors, or people not showing good sportsmanship in the AKC and in dog show competitions. If I need to I will name actual names if I suspect wrong-doing, after research and investigation is completed.
Sincerely,
Donna Stanley

Biewer Terrier from Hearts n Paws
We bought a Biewer Terrier from Hearts n Paws, the breeder is Kim Carson. I would say this is my worst experience ever. We bought the puppy with breeding rights. However, our vet found our puppy only has one testicle and the other one is retained. We told Kim this situation and wanted to discuss with her how to address this issue. Based on our contract, if the puppy cannot be used to breed, she should refund us the breeding right fee. However, she was so upset and did not come up with any solution. She didn't even feel sorry for our puppy. She should apologize because she is the breeder. Personally, I don't think she is a responsible breeder. A breeder should breed healthy puppies. A breeder shouldn't sell puppies with breeding rights if their puppy cannot be used to breed.
